Their products are fine for the price paid but I'm not impressed by the speed at which they impose a hefty default penalty. To make payment for my most recent purchase I sent a cheque (in the addressed envelope provided) well in time to cover a payment of under £25.  For some reason they had not processed the cheque quickly so sent me a new statement saying that I had defaulted on the payment and not only did I still owe the sum stated but that a charge of £12 + 12p interest was now owed. No prompting from them to pay the amount due,  just a default charge, equal to about half of the cost of my order, slapped on my bill. 
Needless to say I contacted them and the person I spoke to more or less blamed the post/my bank for holding up the payment (which they now say has arrived) and told me that I ought to have checked up that the payment had gone through. It appears to be everyone else's fault but Ace are blameless! They did agree to remove the charges and I am waiting to see if that really happens.  I can't say I was impressed by the attitude of the person I spoke to either. I have shopped on & off for many years with Ace, always paying off in full and never before have I had  problem with payment. However, I doubt I'll be shopping again with them.
