Abbeyhill Garage

Very disappointing experience with this garage. I asked for body work for my car after an incident caused by a taxi. The garage said they can do it but they need to give the car to someone else to do the body work. He told me he would call me and confirm with me one hour later. But he didn't call me after two days even after I called the garage twice during that two day. I thought about going to another garage, but I have already made an deal with the guy who committed the accident, so I stayed there. I described 3 damaged places on my car to him and gave him the job. After two days time, I went to collect my car only to find that they only fixed one damage, and he told me I have to wait for another week to fix one more place and one more week for the other one. He kept saying it's because he has to give the job to another guy, didn't want to take the responsibility. very low efficiency and very dis-organised.

I’d been searching for a reliable and trustworthy garage after moving to the area. After checking the 4 google reviews and a few from a previous Groupon deal, feedback on Abbeyhill appeared to be positive and genuine. All the more disappointing to find my MOT experience with them dishonest and misleading. I needed a couple of tyres for the MOT and offered them to quote as I already had a competitive price elsewhere. I specifically asked for a fully fitted price and then asked them to confirm the price. As they were close enough in price I gave Abbeyhill the business. When I went to collect the car they then added fitting and VAT on top of their ‘fully fitted price’ and charged me another hours labour for incidental items that were not required and I wasn’t consulted about. Total bill was more than £100 more than expected, and when speaking to them on the phone three times prior to collecting they wouldn’t tell me the total, Absolutely disgusted at the way they treated me, proper cowboys. Avoid.

Got my car repaired paid £180 pound later to learn the part was never replaced at all!! On top they have caused my abs light to come on, cons stay away.

Highly recommend. After an awful experience with another local garage I found Abbeyhill Garage online as I am not from the area. They recovered my vehicle and had the problem located and fixed within a few hours. Peter a huge thank you from me, 110% customer service and you restored my faith proving that there are some amazing garages out there. Thanks again for a great job done and at a very reasonable price.

Can't really praise them enough... There are always so many stories going around about rogue car dealers/mechanics that finding a reliable, courteous, competitively priced and local garage is a real pleasure. I have been back now 5 times over the last 4 years for MOT's on 3 different cars. The staff have always been friendly and willing to explain what needs doing. The thing that sold it for me the first time and subsequently when walking past (which i do 2 or 3 times a week) is that they are always busy. It doesn't seem to stop them being able to fit me in at my convenience, not theirs. I would definitely recommend this garage as a centrally located, convenient, independent gem!
