A Touch of History: Crossing Abbey Road I recently had the incredible opportunity to cross Abbey Road at the exact spot where the Beatles immortalized themselves on the cover of their iconic album. It was a truly surreal and unforgettable experience. As I stepped onto the zebra crossing, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. It was like stepping back in time, imagining the Fab Four walking the same path decades ago. The energy and excitement of the location were palpable, and it was clear that this was a pilgrimage for many Beatles fans. While there were plenty of tourists snapping photos and recreating the album cover pose, the overall atmosphere was respectful and celebratory. It was a truly magical moment that I'll cherish forever. If you're a Beatles fan, crossing Abbey Road is a must-do experience.
Absolutely a dream. Both for the legacy of these studios and the fantastic shape they are kept in. From acoustics to gear, to hospitality and cleanness - not to mention the walls fully adorned with posters and pictures of some of the biggest film scores in the industry and tonnes of artists who recorded there. An amazing experience
Abbey Road Studios The world's most famous recording studio, where The Beatles recorded 190 of their 210 songs between 1962 and 1970. Other artists who have recorded at Abbey Road include Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, and Fela Kuti. There is also a shop next to studio.
We were gifted weekend tickets to the Kite Festival which was being held at Abbey Road Studios. ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS!!! My husband is a massive muso and a HUGE Beatles fan so an amazing opportunity to get inside Abbey Road for two whole days! Honestly, whilst the speakers at Kite were great, we did spend the most of the first day absolutely awestruck to be inside. After taking in all the amazing photos we in the corridors we popped into the canteen for a very reasonably priced cup of tea and then we spent the whole two days wandering between studios one and two, listening to some very interesting speakers. But, honestly, you just can't help soaking in all that musical history that's happened right there. In studio two, where the Beatles recorded 90% of their music, is the 'Mrs Mills' piano used on Penny Lane, A Little Help from my Friends and others, and the Challen piano used on Paperback Writer, A Day in the Life, The Fool on the Hill and others If you every get the chance to do a tour of this fabulous place do it!
We of course walked the crosswalk while there and went to the Abbey Road shop. It was great and they have a lot of options for souvenirs and books about the history of the studio. The prices are not that bad actually and the staff were kind and helpful. There is great music playing while you shop and you an write on the walls going into the shop. This is a definite while being a tourist in the area and easy to get to by bus. Would highly recommend.
Well, what can one say? If you are a Beatles fan or music fan, and you are in central London, this is a must stop. I was thrilled at the opportunity to experience this. The iconic road crossing is just outside the studio on Abbey Road. It is a bit of an effort to get there via mass transit. We did so via bus route number 139. The stop is half a block from the studio. Easy on and easy off. Route 139 takes you right back down to Oxford Street.
Super fun place to visit if you’re a fan. They have a small but well-curated selection of souvenirs and vinyls. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Please note that you’re not able to actually go into the studio or even their parking lot. You can only visit the shop and of course take a picture on the walkway. Lots of strangers there so if you go alone —like I did — someone will line up with you to snap “the” picture.
I was there recording 3 tracks with my rock chior, we had an amazing time the studio oozes history from the walls, I trod in the footsteps of some of the greatest music legends, the beatles, pink floyd, to name a few, the gift shop is amazing and quite expensive but you only visit once so I got what I wanted .... all in all a 11 out of 10 experience...

The crosswalk outside the studio, featured on the album's cover, has become a pop culture landmark visited by fans from around the world. In addition to The Beatles, Abbey Road Studios has hosted a wide array of artists from various genres, including Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, and Adele, to name just a few. If you've done the crosswalk then have a look in the studio gift shop. Lots of cool Beatles and Abbey Road souvenirs. You can't get in the studio but you can read some of the history and sign your name on the wall outside. A ballpoint pen works ok but if you can plan ahead then pack a Sharpie.
