Threw a surprise murder mystery for my husband as part of our wedding weekend and the team at A Door in A Wall was superb. This was a private event and the game was Murder Most Fowl. From the planning to actual day experience, everything went smoothly and we got so much guest feedback on how much they enjoyed the game lovely surprise at the end that there was a lovely trophy for the winning team!. The actors involved deserve a special shout out as they were all superb in their role the woman in particular was a ton of fun to interact with!. The clues were very balanced and made good use of technology. Towards the end of the game, a few of us had a chat with the host/ Gavin aka Alex Blaine and his enthusiasm for game design was clear. Highly recommended!
Firstly, Grace, the organiser, was absolutely superb. Friendly, cheery and on the ball, Grace made the whole booking process incredibly simple, easy and enjoyable and I was actually disappointed they weren't going to be in the game itself! The game was BRILLIANT. The actors were truly committed to the roles and I loved how seriously they took the process. "Lucy" was especially hilarious, with a dry humour that had our team in fits of giggles. "Alex Blane" was a fantastic host who had the really difficult job of being stood up AND in character for the entirety of our game 3/4 hours+, so that was really appreciated by our entire team. The clues were challenging and you definitely had to be on the ball to crack the case, which was a nice touch. We all loved that the game was not limited to our private room and that you had to explore and speak to members of staff for some of the clues. 12/10, would and have! recommend to anyone. Such a perfect team building event to do with colleagues.
Having spent a fair bit of time searching for an alternative way to celebrate my 30th, I stumbled across A Door In A Wall. I was a little apprehensive to start but from my first interaction with Grace, the events coordinator, I knew myself and my guests would be well looked after and we were in for a fantastic evening. Grace was absolutely superb throughout at addressing any queries/concerns leading up to the date of the event. She made the whole process incredibly simple, easy and enjoyable and was very accommodating to any requests I had. The game itself was excellent. The actors were properly committed to their roles and I loved how seriously they took the process and entertained the participants with their humour/wit. Alex was a fantastic and funny host who had the really difficult job of getting everyone hyped and excited to start and he continued that enthusiasm for the duration of the game – almost 2/3hours. The clues were challenging and inventive which definitely helped brood excitement and competitiveness. I would hands down recommend the game/experience to anyone and would love to have a go at the other games! Whether you’re a corporate firm looking for a great/fun team-building exercise or just entertaining clients, or like myself, just looking for something different to celebrate an occasion, there’s definitely a little something for everyone to thoroughly enjoy. Shout out also to the staff at Mitre, Lancaster Gate where the event took place for a fantastic array of drinks and delicious canapés/desserts for guests to nibble as they played.
An excellent experience from start to finish! I booked a game with A Door In A Wall for a work xmas party and booking, discussing our budget, payments and set up were all so smooth and easy! The game was excellent with a brilliant host to help us whenever we were stuck. I couldn't recommend this company more for any occasion, will definitely be booking with them again in the future!
We booked one of these experiences for a team event with work. Speaking to everyone who took part, we all had a great time! The game was challenging but a lot of fun, I particularly enjoyed the interactive use of technology which added an extra dimension. Our host was great and kept the game flowing. Would definitely book again!
We hired A Door in the Wall to do "In Case of Emergency" for our team of 12 people. The game was hosted in a private room at a pub. We had a great time; the host was excellent and the game was really engaging. The events team were very responsive and accommodating when getting everything organised. I hope that they can host an event for us again!
Brilliant fun. Well organised and perfect hosts! I booked the 'Murder Most Fowl' experience for a hen party. A Door In A Wall recommended the location which was perfect. There were 18 of us and we worked in small teams to solve the mystery. Everyone had a great time and the host/actors were brilliant. Would definitely recommend.
I arranged for a group of 32 to play 'Murder Most Fowl'. I chose the BFI Drawing Room as my venue. The game was really excellent. So much fun!! There were characters to interact with, clues to find and dots to connect! It was a good difficulty level, and despite the fact it all took place in one room, we were engaged for 3 hours. I would really recommend these guys, it was very worth it!
We arranged and took part in a Murder Most Fowl event as a team bonding exercise. It was great fun, relaxed due to the bar environment and alcohol!, highly engaging and very competitive! The actors & Alex did a brilliant job of making it an entertaining afternoon. Thank you so much!
A Door in a Wall ran their game Murder Most Fowl for our organisation's team building day, and all who took part thoroughly enjoyed it. The game was great fun, varied and the involvement of actors made a real difference. The organisers were very professional and friendly. They offered options and flexibility to attend to our needs. I will definitely keep A Door in a Wall in mind for future events.
