Placed an order through Just Eat at 7:15pm, called at 8:00pm to check the food was on its way and was told it would be 10 minutes. Tried calling again at 8:30pm but got the busy tone. Continued to try calling right through to 9:00pm, still getting the busy tone each time, still no sign of our delivery. It's clear that the restaurant can't meet the demands of its customers and when faced with busyness, choose to leave the phone off the hook rather than attempt decent customer service. If I could have actually spoken to someone at the restaurant, I would have cancelled the order and demanded a refund rather than have what should have been a lazy Saturday night treat turn into a stressful night of starving. In the end, we had to go through the Just Eat online technical support chatroom to cancel the order and organise a refund. About 5mins later a delivery driver showed up with our food but rather than offer it as compensation, took it away to throw in the bin. Appalling.
FSA rating - 1/5 as of 09/2014 We visited at the weekend and I must say the food and cleanliness of this place is well beyond dire. The outside it looks like a rundown hovel, this matches the inside quite well. You can bring your own booze, which we did and thank god we did as it was the only enjoyable thing about the whole meal. We sat down and unstuck the side plates held down with grease, we cleaned the filthy cutlery and opened the takeaway style menus. The starters arrived which were not too bad then we waited over 40 minutes for the mains, this is where the fun started, I couldn’t help but laugh when they wheeled out a 1970s food trolley absolutely filthy, my exotic sounding meal turned out to be a greasy congealed sickly orange mess served with gray looking pilau rice all of which served luke warm, my wifes chicken tikka masala had no yogurt and was pure salt and that’s all you could taste so both inedible. Whilst I chewed on the rubbish nann I looked at the white basket it was served on, I nearly puked, the tray was caked in grease, dust, old food and my food had been placed on this, it looked like it had never been cleaned and just stacked on the others!! The set meal we went for we didn’t receive the advertised lassi drink and we under ordered rice which wasn’t taken off the bill or mentioned when ordering. The bill for 4 people… £38.60. If people really think the level of cleanliness and food quality is up to standard here then I really question any ones taste or lack of in this case. I think I would pay the same price for two and have quality food and service in a clean environment. How this place remains open is beyond me, it really needs to be investigated by the health department, imagine how bad the kitchen is when everything is covered in grease in the public areas and the filthy plates they use. I wondered why there was no FSA rating on this place in sight, it’s because they are ranked 1/5 = major improvement necessary. By the looks of things they are not bothered with the health of their customers and the customers are not bothered as long as it’s cheap.
If i could give no stars i would the staff there was nice but the manager was not food took forever to come but the biggest problem was the food now you may think im exaggerating due to the time it took or the managers manners but i am not i am a chef and im aware of whats off and whats not. So il start of with the papadums they are ment to be crispy these ones were tearable you can see they tried reheating it but didnt get crispy which means atleast 3 days past off date. The lamb puree starter, curry was so bland tasted like lamb with water with a hint of curry powder puree bread was hard now i did not complain assuming the mains should be okay but it was the worst their rice wes genuinely smelling like poo and i am not joking it was atleast 2 weeks past off date the nan had stones from the clay oven which means theirs is very old but not maintained at all now butter chicken was completely missold butter chicken is creamy and sweet but this so called second chef made it tangy with no cream and not sweet apart from a sprinkle of sugar it was disgusting regardless and unedible. For the first time in my life i was forced to say 'no this food is bad' to waiter when asked hows the food. I never complained about food but this by far is tge worst place ive been to in my life when spaking to the manager i explained to him that i reccomend to get a new chef in the nicest way possible i even paid the money which i had every right to not pay but he got defensive n said 'you feel what you want to feel nothing i can do' DO NOT GO UNTIL NEW CHEF
Awful the hygienic rating is zero. Avoid at all costs. The staff employ illegal workers and don't pay taxes. They also have a branch in LS9 Dolly Lane. Even there everything is dirty, unclean and not fresh. My family went there and my youngest daughter got diarrhoea and sickness. My son won't being sick and feels dizzy and had awful stomach cramps still. The food if uou could call it that is not even fit for dogs let alone humans.
Currently writing this while "waiting" for the food to arrive. Ordered at 7.20. Called at 8.30 to ask why it hadn't arrived and was promised in 10 minutes. Called again at 8.50 to ask why it hadn't arrived and was promptly hung up on. Such a shame as the food has been great in the past and have come here for 5 years now, but after tonight I will not be ordering again.
Started out with no toilet paper in either of the toilets, followed with a paneer pakora that really didn't taste like paneer and a very burned falafel. Then the main dish dhansak showed up with out pineapple and the paneer mattar was served with cheddar cheese instead of paneer. Very disappointed to not get what we ordered, will never go back and can not recommend to anyone.
I have tried a few curry resaurants recently and was amazed just how bad some OTHER PLACES have got. I had appalling food at Aagraah in Chapel Allerton, worse at the long established Sheesh Mahal in Kirkstall and revolting food at "Rice" in Oakwood. What a delight to find properly cooked dishes at Seven Spices, AT LAST. Every dish was simply spot on, several veg dishes, dall and lamb. Breads and rice good too. They could raise the game by getting some decent beers in instead of all that tasteless headache inducing town lager lout rubbish, pointless Cobra, Kingfisher etc. The owner's son is on the case and hopefully decent beer will make this a perfect place. Its far from posh but at least you get proper curries for a value for money price. I would choose this place over any I have been to in recent years.
It tasted good, but it gave me the runs real bad. My butt was like a warzone. Passing this meal was like my own personal toilet vietnam. I think I have PTSD now. However, the pakoras are excellent.
Abysmal. Used through Just Eat and was shockingly late. They took their phone off the hook. Food was terrible. Don't use or order. New management is inept.
The food was so mouth watering that we are ordering again tonight, will definitely be regulars.
