Independent family run Indian restaurant

Story

We are not your standard Indian restaurant. Here at The Corner Cafe we do things a bit differently. We might not play Bollywood tunes and our waiters and waitresses do not wear traditional Indian dress, but the atmosphere and the welcome is always warm. Our recipies are based on Karim's grandmother's home cooking from Dehli using fresh ingredients with the minimum of ghee. Karim likes to say that a night out at The Corner Cafe is "simple food, shared in good company".

Picked up a great takeaway from here recently. Genuinely friendly service, delicious food and all at a great price. Will definitely be coming back for a sit-in meal when the world opens up again, this is a local spot worth supporting!
I simply liked their food. I always get awesome customer service there. The place is clean and the workers are always welcoming. Will come back again.
Had a lovely takeaway from corner cafe this evening. The gentleman who took our order on the phone and we collected from was very friendly. We ordered the fish masala, vegetable bhuna, pilau rice and a garlic naan and it was all absolutely delicious and not swimming in oil like some other takeaway curries. Would definitely recommend!
Amazing food, the staff were really attentive and friendly. We were sat upstairs and didn't notice how busy the place had got because we were so well looked after. The peshwari naan is delicious it's unlike any I've had before, I'm not sure if anything will now live up to it.
Homely atmosphere. Lots of my friends are great fans, but I just feel that the curries weren't very complex spice-wise. It's certainly not bad at all, just that I was expecting a lot better given its reputation.

This spot is the one I like best. I eat in many restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The team is very chummy and the food they cook is so delicious. I would always prefer to have a nice meal here. Highly recommended.
I only came in for the nostalgia having lived around the corner as a student in the '90s but was blown away with how good it was, fresh and tasty food with complex layers of flavour. I've been to several Michelin star Indian restaurants and the food is up there.
