Story

Welcome to the Moreau family restaurant called 63°, where the food is an expression of modern French cuisine, using only locally sourced, fresh ingredients and cooking designed to delight the senses and convey a whole new world of taste.
If you love coffee, you’ll know that many believe that 63° is the perfect temperature at which to serve it. But Eric Moreau will tell you that it’s also the temperature of a unique cooking technique that he’s perfected after many years of experimentation. Cooked long and low at 63°, poultry tastes like you’ve never tasted it before, incomparably tender and full of unforgettable flavours.

On our friend's birthday, he wanted to eat French cuisine, so we chose 63 Degrees, one of the highly-rated French restaurants in Manchester. To celebrate, we brought a birthday cake. Upon entering, the waiter informed us that it would be £12.50 per person to eat our own cake, equivalent to their average dessert price. We had no other choice but to accept the cost unless we walked out of the restaurant. However, when the bill arrived, we were charged £13.00 per person instead. The issue is not only the cost but most importantly, misleading us and the refusal to correct it when we pointed it out. Regarding the food, it was disappointing and not worth the price. The starters included a yellow risotto that tasted sweet and strange, foie gras that was cold and flavorless, and escargot that, although decent, was fried and not fresh. The main dishes, like the pigeon burger, beef burger, and scallops, were just average. We provided feedback to the waiter about the starters. Hopefully they will improve their starters. When it came to the wine selection, we wanted to purchase a bottle to share amongst us. Unlike other restaurants I have been to, they did not allow us to taste different selections of wines before choosing a bottle. I feel that it is an unusual policy and off-putting for those who want to select a nice wine and are unfamiliar with the brands of selection they have. Lastly, the restaurant did not acknowledge my friend's birthday with a song or any special gesture, or even happy birthday wishes. While this may seem minor, it added to the overall disappointment for the lack of hospitality. Service wise, it was moderately slow and we have to walk to the bar counter several times to request refills for water. Given these experiences, I would not recommend 63 Degrees for celebrating birthdays or any special occasions. Honestly, look elsewhere in Manchester that’s worth your money.
A French fine cuisine restaurant in Northern quarter. It’s far from mediocre but always disappoints you in some unexpected way. For example the Japanese Wagyu is tender and tasty but it could be better if the temperature can be up few degrees. The escargot the snail has been presented in unusual way, impressive with rich layers of taste. But again the temperature is not in the right level. Maybe it’s my fault to have this dinner at early 6pm-ish to be the first client of evening. The kitchen is just warming up yet.
We enjoyed a delightful lunch at 63 Degrees. This is a really exceptional restaurant. Although it could seem to be a somewhat intimidating establishment the chef and front of house are warm, welcoming and so passionate. The food is very good. Classic but interesting. A fantastic wine menu. And brilliant service. Eat hereFood: 5/5
I have started to reserve reviews for those places that really stand out to me. I took my wife here for her Birthday lunch, hadn't heard much about it so was being hopeful that it would do well. What an amazing place. So, so glad to have found it. The service was impeccable. First place in a while where I've been genuinely happy to pay service charge. The staff member, I wish I got his name, was a great host. Great smile, speedy service, so friendly and welcoming. The food was even better. Very rich. I'm not the biggest fan of French cuisine usually, but you really do have to appreciate really well made food. On top of everything, they made my wife feel so special on her birthday. Thank you so much 63° degrees! I will be back. Atmosphere, cost, portion sizes, food, presentation, all 5/5. Nothing was amiss. Even the cocktails were so well done. Can't praise this place enough.
Exquisite, sublime, perfect. It's a rare find when everything is perfect, but 63 Degrees is the sheer level of perfection that every restaurant should aim to have. Greeting was warm, decor was Parisian in nature, yet warm. Quirky lamps that mimicked a candle flame. A clam, tranquil atmosphere. Perfect for romantic meals. Service was excellent, professional, yet warm. The wine list had a good choice yet wasn't overloaded like some restaurants. The food was divine. We could see in the kitchen and there was only one chef, who knocked it out of the park. Everything was elevated, every mouthful, near sensual. Definitely the best French food we've had at a Manchester restaurant in terms of quality so far. Could easily gain a Michelin star if they wanted. I'd recommend everything. The Rose Apple Tart, spectacular in taste and presentation, and for those Instagram lovers, definitely a prized photo. Came here for partner's birthday and they supplied a birthday treat, honestly just the cherry on top of a perfect experience. Overall, perfect. Kudos to the 63 degrees owner, they have a gem here.
My partner has already posted a review, but I wanted to give 63 Degrees another 5 stars. We went there for my birthday and everything was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was the perfect balance between professional and accessible. The menu is great, I wanted to order everything, and the food was incredible, bravo to the chef. I was sad but full when i finished my dessert! My favourite dish was the mushroom and egg starter. It reminded me of the French countryside in autumn. I found the atmosphere and decor to be very much like the brasseries from my native France, and it was lovely to celebrate my birthday in such a setting. Thank you to the team at 63 Degrees!
Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. I had the tasting menu with the wine pairing which was very enjoyable. The tomato tartlet and the scallop courses were definitely the stars of the menu. Definitely will return next time I am in ManchesterFood: 4/5
We had a great lunch here to celebrate our 21st years anniversary on the coronation day. Nice food nice atmosphere. It’s a must try dessert “Strawberry soup”.
1/5 Overall 1/5 for ambience. Dining area’s cleanness not matching up to this pricing. 1/5 for service 4/5 for food: portion overall could be improved / beef veal taste is not good: too sour. Else are fine 1/5 for mocktails. Overpriced for food/service and dining environment. For this price you can really get happier experiences and better food elsewhere.
The food was delicious, had the oyster and duck to start then both had the veal. I had the sweet chestnut sauce for desert which I wouldn't order again to be fair, not that it was unpleasant, it just wasn't up to the standard of the starters and mains. Great wine list and a funky Halloween cocktail. The staff were cracking too, very nice and accommodating. Fully recommend and we will be back
