Bar was hosting Jamboree which was excellent and made for a very good vibe. Unfortunately the atmosphere was let down by poor bar staff and low quality drink
Good beer, live music, and because they dont sell food, only have snacks, you can order food from outside and eat it here wile listening to good music.
This bar is a well kept secret in Canary Wharf, unlike the others filled with office crowds on a Thursday night this bar seemed quiet and sleepy at first but then when the live music starts it's got a nice homely yet traditional English pub vibe. Absolutely lovely staff, wish I could have stayed longer but I will be back here pretty soon! You can tell from the regulars who come here on how fun loving and energetic this pub is! Truly a gem of a little pub with it's own history.
Not the best looking bar. When we first walked in, it was completely empty. But within 20 minutes the locals started filling in and it quickly felt like a nightclub. Classic dance songs and relatively cheap alcohol made for a fun night out.
A Fantastic place with a fun atmosphere, whether you go in to party or for a meal they cater to your every need. They have great beer and food at reasonable prices as well as a lit beer garden complete with beanbags, sofas and Shelter from the rain. I have spent many a night over 6 years either partying, eating or just chatting with the staff and regulars over a nice cold pint.
Best pub in the land by far. Have been going to the Urban Bar or Zebra bar as we like to call it for well over 10 years - and it has never changed.......it's always been AWSOME and gives you the best laughs you'll ever have on a random Tuesday night out or any night for that matter. its amazing how the dynamics of a bar will change, with the small addition of hats and wigs on a school night. Love it - many great nights there, with lots of photo's to giggle at. The owners are salt of the earth people if slightly unhinged - and it is evident by the great people that congregate there. Go there, you will not be disappointed :
The Urban Bar is now hosting Jamboree. Jamboree has moved from Cable Street to this bar. If you like world music, The Urban Bar provides some amazing live music! You can buy tickets on the door, but it's best to reserve your tickets in advance through the Jamboree website. Tickets are usually cheaper through the website compared to the door prices. Plus, if you turn up on the night it might be sold out. The night I attended with three other friends, it was sold out and packed inside. If you want to grab a seat it's best to arrive early. The bar has a bohemian feel, and sells a good selection of alcoholic and soft drinks.
Local pub with decent drinks, large terrace open until night for smokers. The crowd is mainly a good behaving one. So easy job for the security. Good for a informal drink with friends.
Great music venue with live performances most days. Drinks selection is very poor though. Only one decent beer on draught, East London Brewery Pale Ale, and nothing at all drinkable in the fridges when I was there.
Bit of a trouble spot at times. Some good people. The music is a little sketchy and the entrance is directly on the road. You get wasted you're likely to get hammered by the speeding cars. Top security staff, though. And I did have decent time.
