It’s a firm favourite with the pre-theater crowds, tourists and locals alike, looking for great food without too much fuss and formality. With a great European wine list, cocktails and outdoor patio serving food all dayIdeally situated between the Royal Lyceum and the Usher hall and 10 minute walk from the Castle. My wife and I had a buy a gift voucher bought and we used it at Zucca in Edinburgh. The food was superb. Bruschetta, scallops, chicken salad and fish stew. Followed by chocolate box dessert. Amazing. Well worth a visit just for the customer service. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Perfect. Well worth a visit
Last night we had the best time at dinner that we have ever had. Our servers Sadie & Poppy were attentive, helpful and full of personality. Plus they gave great recommendations for the food & drinks! Thank you so much to you both! You are great assets to your team. And made us feel very welcome. Great food and drinks at a reasonable price with an imbeccable level of service. Truly a perfect start to our holiday. FYI you put us English peeps to shame. Thank you thank you thank you ...
The restaurant is located right next to the theater We love the decor and sat upstairs served by friendly Tony. The food is freshly prepared and delicious! Very authentic Italian food and we did enjoyed a lovely lunch. Simple menu and great food with reasonable pricing. Highly recommend this restaurant and would visit again.
Zucca was a great experience. The decor is very cool with lots of old theatre posters. It is next to the usher Hall and lyceum theatre and perfect for a pre/post theatre meal. The pizza was excellent. Authentic Italian as can be.
The food was really lovely. We had the home made bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for starters. The bread was really homemade, soft and delicious. We had the cabonara and diavalo pizza for mains and it didn't disappoint. I didn't want cheese on my pizza and I totally enjoyed it. We also had a side of chips. The mains were delicious. For pudding, we had sticky toffee pudding and a selection of ice creams. Overall, we had a wonderful meal here. We had a great host and he was nice and friendly. Great customer service. We met wonderful people in the restaurant. We came in as strangers and left as friends. I highly recommend
Only booked on Groupon as we didn’t know where to eat. Was a bit of a walk from the royal mile, but worth it. Wild mushroom risotto and Summer tart were both amazing.
I felt let down by the vegan options, which were plain and uninspiring. I had a tomato pasta which felt no better than out of a bag at home. The sauce was a little bland and the pasta didn't taste fresh. I was envious of my friend who ordered fish that they said was excellent. The food served to other guests looked really good in comparison as well. So don't be put off if you're not veggie. I was happy with the quality of the cocktail menu. The wine selection was decent. Staff were a big plus, they were polite and welcoming. Vegetarian options: The vegan menu is just a rip-off of the regular menu without ingredients. Not really properly thought out dishes for vegetarian patrons.
Had lunch with six of my old school friend there. The staff were very professional and attentive and the food was excellent. There had a problem with the lift from the theatre it is part of to access the first floor and one if the party has mobility problems but we had a wonderful time.
Really lovely lunch prior to the ballet. Well balanced menu and food was beautifully presented. Good service and nothing too much trouble for front of house staff. Highly recommend. Parking: As we have a blue badge there is ample parking just at the door. Wheelchair accessibility: Straight run in to ground floor tables.
We enjoyed antipasto platter, olives and risotto. Desserts were also nice but a bit small. Don't recommend fettuccine seafood - sauce is the worst and too spicy.
