We, the 'Friends', are a small crew of volunteers whose aim is to raise funds to enable conservation work to be carried out on the Zetland Lifeboat. She was built and delivered to Redcar in 1802 and is now showing her age.

I visited while I was away for work and they were very accommodating. I am an ancestor of the creator of the Zetland so it was great to see in real life and the boat itself is very lovingly restored which is evident. Very knowledgeable staff Arthur is who I spoke with Thank you!

Amazing museum with amazing history and friendly staff!!
I loved this place, I could have been there for well over an hour, there was alot to see and read. I found the staff very helpful and answered all my questions with great knowledge. I would encourage people to visit.
Amazing place to go and see. Staff are amazing and would talk to you about the museum. Also Princess Ann was just there. It's free to enter so Adults and children will love it.
An interesting place to spend an hour or so. The newly refurbished lifeboat is now on show. If you're interested in Redcar history there are lots of photos of the town taken in days gone by. And it's free !
