Truly amazing variety of buffet items which sit there and lose flavour and texture until they are just a disappointment to eat. Wide range of curries too but for some reason, instead of being thick and rich, they are all watery - every single one. Our feeling is that Zest focuses too hard on volume and has forgotten about quality. Consequently we've left several times underwhelmed and I don't think we'll be back in a hurry. Also. After seeing the notice advertising weekday lunches I drove for half an hour one Wednesday, to find that they don't do lunches any more except on Sundays. Pah!
Zest is the best, the Sunday buffet is fantastic. Staff are excellent and so friendly you are made to feel so welcome. Have eaten here many times and will be going back this Sunday, their takeaway service is wonderful to. Please give it a try you won't be disappointed.
This is advertised as serving Chinese cuisine buts it's all Indian & Thai. Too much choice compromises the quality of food. The buffet style menu provides luke warm, watery dishes. The drinks are very expensive £3.60 for coke and no wine coolers provided.
Came for the buffet, downfall being that there isn't much Thai and Chinese options but love that there is plenty gluten free to have. Great to try new things. Mango chicken was gorgeous.
Unfortunately average Indian restaurant, that I wish would try a bit harder with their quality of food. The service is always great however, very friendly, whether ordering a takeaway or dining in. I've dined in once, and the popadoms tasted like paint bad, old oil, and the beer tasted like it had line cleaner still in it. : The dishes were just really average for taste, no wow factor, my partner agreed. I tried a takeaway some time later to give this place another go a madras, which is hard to get wrong, and it was extremely watery, the restaurant kindly swapped for me, but it wasn't that much better. I live walking distance from this restaurant and really, really wish it was better! I hope this restaurant can improve its ingredients/cooking to bring it up to scratch like Naaz or Basmati in Nantwich. Maybe simplify the menu a bit, and concentrate on offering fresh dishes. Please try harder Zest
We've only been here once. It was for the Sunday eat as much as you can deal. The price was good. There were many starters and a very good selection of mains. Cannot understand why it changed so many times from an indian to an italian and then back again...very strange. Anyway, its a little bit out of the way as you need to drive there but we will go back.
After spending weeks driving past Zest on a recent contract job and seeing the signs I booked my wife and I in for the Sunday buffet. On arrival staff we're very helpful and friendly and service was very quick. The food choice was superb with a massice choice of starters and main course. A staggering choice and we will definately be going back to sample many of the dishes we didnt manage to try. The dishes we did sample were excellent, very tasty indeed and we both left very happy.
Visited for the first time. Very friendly staff. Buffett was amazing and a large variety of different dishes for all tastes. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend.
Went yesterday for the 7 course traditional turkey Christmas dinner. Appetisers were 2 curly fries, a couple of criss cross fries and a very mini quiche all on a big plate. No dips. Next was a "sharing platter" which was all breaded and fried: a fishfinger, mozzarella stick, mushroom, prawn and 2 or 3 chicken goujons. Each. Again on a big plate each nothing platter or sharing about it with no dips or sauces. It looked like Iceland food. Next was warm chicken soup with croutons. Dinner was a slice of meat which may have been turkey and mixed veg consisting of carrots, peas, sweetcorn and I had 1 small piece of broccoli and cauliflower my husband didn't. Stuffing looked like minced chicken spread over the meat but wasn't actually stuffing. It was pretty indescribable really. 4 frozen roast potatoes, cranbery sauce straight out of a jar. All covered in a yellow greasy coconut tasting oil. Yes coconut. Not sprouts or pigs in blankets. No gravy. No condiments on the table but we were offered ketchup. Xmas pudding and sauce were cold, not warm in the slightest. At this point we asked for the bill and left. No one asked why we were leaving before the coffee and cheese and biscuits, they couldn't care less and just wanted us gone. There were no Xmas decorations in the room which was bare and quite stark. Everything was very cheap looking, especially the crackers on the table. Have they fallen on hard times or just stopped caring how they treat customers? 2 pints of diet coke were £7.20. It was unbelievable and ruined the day for us. I have a picture of my main course that I'd love to post. It doesn't deserve 1 star but you have to give it one in order to leave a rating. Most of the good reviews seem to be from several years ago. It should close its doors in shame for what they served us today.
We have used Zest many times in the past and have generally been happy with the quality of the food but not the price! If you find somewhere with good food and a decent level of customer service you tend to go back. However the last two orders that we have had delivered have been of a poor quality, quality did not match the price! Naan breads ordered with a filling such as keema naan with garlic. Unfortunately you would need visual aids such as a microscope or binoculars to ascertain as to the where about's of your filling! Never Again!
