Very atmospheric restaurant with friendly staff. My friend and me hat some German sausages, which tasted great and I would definitely recommend trying the currywurst! Great experience
So I'd walked past a few times, this time I'm so glad I went in! The owners are actually German and it very authentic I had the currywurst and it was great comes with chips too! I will be back! Owners really nice aswell
Really poor experience! We came right after opening, tables were sticky and dirty, indoor screen didn't work and to view menu we were asked to go outside and check one on the window. Beer advertised - but no available, after we ordered we were told - cash only cause card machine doesn't work. Can of drink taken from the fridge was extra dirty, when I asked if staff could wash it for me lady just rolled her eyes and sprinkle water from tap on it and suggested to clean it with a tissue. When our food arrived our disappointment continued - went to the bin.
Ingredients very fresh and tasty, lovely warm decor. Delicious dog, downside was extremely difficult to eat as bread roll was sliced all the way through so half the ingredients fell through the roll or over the top. Other than that it was great, good price. Would return. :
Such an authentic German vibe to it and the sausages are just unadulterated filth. Their curry ketchup is amazing. We didn't know how much the chips were individually so we ended up getting 5 Jagerbombs for £10 which came with free chips - a bargain on shots with an added bonus! The toppings for the sausages are all incredible and blend so well with each other. Can't recommend enough
Tasted good but the portion size wasn't large at all and I definitely wasn't expecting a cut up sausage in a box and a handful of chips for £8. I can get a large kebab, chips and drink for less. Shame as I was looking forward to it. Next time I'll go for something different.
This delightful bijoux eatery is a delicious gem hidden in plain sight. Serving, unsurprisingly, German cuisine it was a great pleasure to eat here. I have missed currywust and chips as I haven't been able to get to Germany for a while. The food at Ze German Schlawiner was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. I need to find an excuse why I have to go eat there again tomorrow...
I've not been a particular fan of German food, possibly because the only time I've actually eaten it in Germany was whilst staying at a youth hostel as a teenager! I've now had a couple of meals from this place, and it's been somewhat of a mixed bag. Firstly, I have to say that the burgers from here are my absolute favourite, really, really tasty - never imagined having cucumber on a burger but it works! I also loved the Bockwurst in a roll, a substantial portion and again very tasty. I was disappointed though with the chips, which were limp and seemed undercooked, and the kasespaetzle, which was a congealed, stodgy lump of dough-like noodles and very underseasoned. I'll still definitely order again, as I said the burgers are my favourite and incredibly good value!
Amazing little German takeaway/restaurant . Was waiting for this place to open for a while and am soo happy. I had the bratwurst ultimate classic and it took me straight back to Berlin a few years ago. The sauces and sauerkraut are unbelievable. Staff are so friendly and also wear the traditional clothes. Would highly recommend. Can't wait for my next one
I am really disappointed in this place, my wife is German and the first time we went there the food was amazing! Although sadly we've been a few times recently and it's just getting worst and worst. Last night when I went I explained that I wanted the vegan sausage with chips and that I wanted the curry sauce on it that usually comes with it on the chips as well. He somehow misunderstood me even after he asked if I wanted the sauce or the ketchup and I clarifed that I wanted the sauce. Anyways he came out with a vegan in a roll and at no point I said I wanted a hot dog that I wanted it in a roll, when I mentioned that he got my order wrong he took offence to this gave me attuide and said I was wrong. I was polite towards him even so, he charged me extra for the same amount of food for it being in a box and not a roll £2.50 extra for the sauce! Which he didn't even make up properly! And on top of that at the end of it he still didn't put it over the chips as I requested in the first place, I took the time to explain myself clearly and properly, I'm sorry but if you English is not good enough to do such a job you shouldn't do it and if you are not passionate about such food then don't do it. So sad to see this place going down hill, cause it was once really good but now its just really overpriced for poor service and poor quality food.
