I still rate this pub as one of the, if not the best pub in Retford. Me & my mates all used it in the late sixties & beyond. Now even better at £2.00 a pint..!!!!!. I appeal to the owners, Please do not alter the pub. Other good pubs in Retford had been altered & are now long gone. Old sun pub staff are Brill.
Live music, good atmosphere and friendly staff, always makes me feel welcome
Went to watch the NLD as it was on BT sport. Relatively small pub but they had the game showing on 4 large screen TVs. Pints were cheap too!
Loved the olde world charm great seating and greeting wonderful couple of beers,Kay had tea from locale.Allowed in pub.Thankyou.

Fantastic pub!! So friendly! Made to feel at home & could take the dog down without a problem! Alex was so accommodating and had all COVID measures in place, unlike other pubs in Retford! Felt very safe & welcome! Definitely our new local! Fantastic bar staff who can’t do enough for you!
Best atmosphere, best management TOP entertainment
Definitely not my sort of place. If you like mass-produced hyped lagers, big screen TVs and fruit machines this could be the pub for you. Didn't impress me nor an American guest - tastelesss Real Ales; no Port; no Prosseco; no return!!
