Not only eating my words tonight, also ate the best kebab ever!nNever been a fan of red Donner but xotica fusion have got it on point! Premium Donner, right amount of spice. Fresh salad and perfect sauces to top it off!nAlso had the salt and pepper platter! Wasn't going to order it but the boss man himself recommended it. What can I say! If your ever torn between a Chinese or a kebab that salt and pepper platter got all the flavours in one. Cant wait to go back
Unfortunately I have to say how disappointed we were, we drove from Manchester to especially try the food at xotica as it was recommended by someone who clearly doesn't have taste buds.nnWe ordered seekh kebab and naan for my son, it was extremely bland, no spice or flavour, came out very quickly, the naan was fresh and hot, however the seekh kebab is questionable to freshness. Unfortunately my son ended up vomiting some kebab back up on to the plate.nnThe waiters are very nice they offered a taster of the donner meat as it was our first time.nnIt actually put us off from ordering it even though that's what we came for, we tried the original, bad boy red and lemon all bland the meat was chewy like it was either old or over done.nnWe proceeded to order and decided to play safe chicken shashlik with naan, and salt and pepper chips.nThe chips did not disappoint they were the best edible thing we ate.nnThe shashlik was disappointing, no flavour, no actual curry sauce , 2 pieces of green pepper and couple slices of onion and loads of red food colouring. So bland and the amount of food colouring was extremely concerning I just had two small pieces, my husband did try, it was difficult, not only did they put the slop on top of the naan, but it's not actually a curry.nIt's like boiled pieces of chicken drenched in food colouring. Good food does not need to be hidden or masked with food colouring, needs a curry base to make it a shashlik. Just pieces of red chicken. Was supposed to come out with salad and yogurt, salad was missing, and sauces came in bottles so we didn't bother with them.nWe took the rest home, as we don't like to waste, I will add a curry base to make it edible.nnI'm sorry to be so negative but this is the truth. If you want a real naan and kebab Abduls is the best you can't beat it, my son was asking me for it but his dad said let's try this place xotica he heard of.nFor a real shashlik go to mazaa on Stockport Road Manchester, it won't disappoint, real curry with life and flavour.nnThe restaurant is well decorated, however the atmosphere was dead, for Sunday night 8:30 when we entered there was 4 men on one table and us in a booth.nIt's cash only. I nipped out across the street to get cash. It's a shame, could this be why it was so quiet??we were gone by 9:25, a couple arrived as we left and two more men.nWe brought water bottles with us as we never leave the house without water, they assumed it was some drinks and told us we couldn't consume. Despite this we didn't order any drinks. Luckily the food was so bland we didn't need a drink.nnXotica also has a take way down the road, which was really busy, we actually went there first as that is route the sat nav took us, looks good, they had a lot of deliveries coming and going and people waiting, which makes me wonder if the quilty of food is better??nnOverall I recommend staying away from meat and going to try the salt and pepper chips, which were best value for money, A nice portion size came in an oval tray.nnSpent £33.85 in total, and hour worth of driving, won't be going back. So grateful my gut instincts stopped me from ordering more as we couldn't have been more disappointed in the meat.
Something has gone horribly wrong with the spicy dip burger and strips on this occasion.nnSince launch its has been spot on but my last visit it all has all changed, it had a strange taste and batter had a unusual texture nothing like previous visits.nnFood was fresh and piping hot however I feel something was wrong with the batter and spicy sauce was completely different , normally it would be orange in colour onced dipped but it was more brown and very watery, it didnt taste the same either.nI think the oil it was fried in could also have been the issue, it had a strange burnt taste.nnThe boss wasn't there as I'm sure this wouldn't have happened under his watch.
Very rarely I give 5 stars to a place and what's even more rare everything I ordered has top marksnnOnly found out about this place after seeing a YouTube review and it will blow you away like it did to me!!! Food was absolutely amazing to taste, it lived to its reputation and the chicken burger was the best I have tasted after a long time. Would definitely order again! Took this takeaway all the way down to coventry for my family to try, they were blown away. Service was great - thanks for sorting us out!!
