My mother and I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Mao and his staff recently. It was convenient for us to take mom there as his office is at St. Joseph's Hospital which is attached to Mount Hope by way of tunnel. My mother, who is 93 and residing at Mount Hope, has mobility issues so this seemed to be the best option. She also is also very hard of hearing even with hearing aids, but Dr. Mao was very kind and patient with my mother during the eye exam. He was calm and just directed her as best he could. Unfortunately, a week after mom received her new lenses, a staff member at Mount Hope lost them. My mother had had the same frames for 15 years which she loved, so that was a challenge in itself to try and find the same ones. We finally did, and they were sent to Dr. Mao's office. They made her a new set of lenses and he did this all free of charge. We are so grateful to Dr. Mao and all his staff for their compassion and understanding after such a stressful time a month without her glasses. Thank you again so much!
I drove for 4 hours to have my eyes checked by this man because he changed my life a few year's back. As a child I had a hard time learning things and was tested probed and yes I had my eyes checked by others. I was placed in classes for kids that had issues similar to mine.I was labeled dumb, retarded, and a lot of other bad things.Other kids kicked and punched me as they would call me names. I dropped out of school at the first possible chance and took any job I could get with no diploma. Everything changed for me the day I got my eyes checked by Dr.Mao. Got a new prescription and glasses and I went back to school and everything was easier. People were looking at my marks and even cheating by looking at my work. I was one of the top students in my class. Because my mark was high I didn't even have to write my final exam. I think that this man changed my life because of his understanding of my eyes.
I received my glasses today and the prescription was spot on. My previous optometrist had trouble getting my prescription correct so I was so thankful for Dr. Mao’s skill. It was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. Dr. Mao and the whole eye care team were simply fantastic. I couldn’t feel happier and I truly believe I am in great hands going forward.
Dr. Mao and the staffs of Mao Eye Care were kind and very accommodating. I recently moved here and was looking for a clinic to get my eye checked. Gladly, I found Mao Eye Care. Dr. Mao is very professional, and explained everything I need to know. Me and my children will be going there for our routine eye check. And for sure, I’ll recommend Dr Mao to my families and friends. Thank you so much!
Dr . Mao is one of the best. He is extremely thorough and professional, an expert in his field. He will answer any questions and concerns, reviews any tests you have had and explain any issues. You do not feel rushed but you do feel valued and respected. Another benefit is that he is located in St Joseph’s hospital, all modern technology at his disposal. I highly recommend Dr.Mao.
Wow! What a treat! I had my first appointment with Dr. Mao today and I have never met a more patient, attentive and kind healthcare professional than him. He took time to understand my daily activities regarding vision, and came up with multiple creative solutions for me. They offered direct billing some excluding may apply, which took a lot of stress of my shoulders. They also have a great selection of eyewear to choose from. I liked that they were located in the hospital, because with Covid still hanging around, it was nice to know that masks were still required in the building. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They also booked me in within a few days of me inquiring, even though December is usually a busy time for the medical field. I really can’t say enough good things about this clinic! If you’re looking for a great experience for your eyes, book with them!
Dr. Mao is wonderful. We went to him for a second opinion and reexamination for a continued vision problem and he took care to listen and properly answer our questions. He provided a thorough examination and advice which we had not received at the other clinics we have been to. I will definitely be returning for our future eye care needs.
This was my first visit to Dr. Mao's office. I had been having a lot of issues with my prescriptions from my previous optometrist over the past few years, so I thought I would try a new optometrist. I was able to get in for an appointment within a week and Dr. Mao shared information regarding my eye health that I had not been made aware of previously. He provided solutions for my dry eye issue and after my exam provided me with a new prescription for glasses. He then referred me to his assistant who helped me select new glasses, properly fitted them, and advised me that they would be ready for pick-up in a week. His receptionist provided my dry eye supplies and educated me on how to use them. All of this took only about an hour and I feel I gained more knowledge and awareness about my eye health and which glasses suited me best, in that time, than I ever had previously. Dr. Mao and his team exhibited a high level of knowledge and professionalism, and made me feel very welcomed. I highly recommend this office.
My friend recommended Dr Mao a few years ago. And since then he has also become my dad and daughter's doctor as well. We all liked Dr Mao the first time we met him. And the people on his staff are just as great. Everyone made us feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr Mao to more family and friends in the future.
I just wanted to let you know that my visit this morning exceeded my expectations. The staff was warm and welcoming which helped me feel at home right away. Dr. Mao took the time to get to know me and to talk about my concerns. He explained everything very well and took the time to explain next steps. The staff was helpful while picking out frames and options for lenses for both everyday wear and sunglasses. Thank you again for a great experience. I will definitely recommend to family and friends.
