For a smallish town, it was nice to have it's own venue for performing arts, so you don't have to travel far.... I don't have much to compare it to, but it was enjoyable. Good sound and lights and smoke effect. Maybe the screen could be a bit bigger. Visibility was good and queues for cafe/ bar/ toilets were okay. Good parking nearby
Went to see Tap Factory at Wyvern recently. Car Parking is not easy as very limited spaces close to the Theatre. Nice cafe/bar area selling good drink options. Food options pretty limited. We had a great view of the stage from our seats in the Stalls. Sound quality was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly.
A great theatre. A huge multi storey car park Whalebridge is within walking distance so plenty of parking nearby. Comfy seats, friendly, helpful staff, lots of ladies toilets which is unusual and snacks to buy at the bar or maybe try one of the delicious ice creams that you can have 1 or more scoop of. We watched an amazing show there tonight. The theatre was packed. Defying Gravity - 4 brilliant female West End lead vocalists singing songs from a diverse range of current and older musicals. Highly recommend the show.
Two stars as the staff were great. This is the tiredest, most run down and tatty theatre i have ever been in. Also, their front row seat AA18 is 1 foot in front of the main left of stage speaker, and has been placed so close to the stage that your knees touch it.nTruely, i have never experienced anything like it. Be warned!nIt needs shutting down and demolishing. They could rebuild such a great venue on that site.
We visited here last night for Sarah Millican - Bobby Dazzler tour. The weather of late has been extremely hot and the auditorium was almost unbearable. I felt like i was being slow roasted.nThe theatre itself was a great size. I'd say perfect for a panto or school show.nI didn't see much in the way of disabled access although i did see wheelchair users so there must of been some somewhere.nThe theatre operates a pay/order now pre show and collect later service for intermission drinks which saves you time trying to scramble getting to the bar!nThere is a split level inside, ticket sales, cafe, small ice cream parlour. Next stairs down are toilets. Followed by more stairs to the bar, larger ice cream parlour and entry to the auditorium.nParking outside is pay and display. Even at 9pm there were parking inspectors checking for tickets so it is fully advisable to purchase one! Cash or phone app.nToilets inside are plentiful but during intermission there was still the inevitable line out the door! Also the toilets had steps. Unfortunately i didn't see the disabled access toilet but I'm pretty sure they would have one given that the ladies has steps inside!nDrinks are moderately priced.nAll in all, apart from baking in a human oven wish i could give 4.5 stars it was a lovely venue.
