Heard about this place due to a bike meet and so glad I visited. Had a lovely breakfast in the dog friendly cafe and then looked around the shops. This place is perfect for families as there is a playground and seating outside, perfect for a picnic with the children or a cuppa and cake from the cafe.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A short stop today at a windmill, I understand that the windmill has recently had it's top replaced, we stopped for a quick break here today and was able to explore and go up all floors of the mill and see the workings that now need some restoration. The steps are small and steep and if you don't like heights you may not like them, but it's worth the climb. There is a nice tea room here with food available too with toilets that are kept clean and tidy. I am not going to review the food as we only stopped for a quick drink. Too the side of the mill there are a couple of boutique style shops to have a browse round. To the other side of the mill is a big grass kids play area and places to sit when the weather is suitable. The car park is quite big but it was quite full today but that was partly due to a small convoy of vintage / classic cars stopping off to use the tea room. It's a bit off the beaten track but if your out for a leisurely country drive it's worth a stop.
Great destination for cyclists. I asked for a Gluten-free breakfast and was told that the sausages were not GF, therefore my only choice was a vegetarian option. The food was delivered hot and tasted really good, but the toast looked the same as my non GF friend’s breakfast?Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
No sails on the mill, but you can climb all the way to the top if you have a head for heights Nice tearoom serving tasty hot and cold food and drinks Nice play area for smaller children Gentle stroll through a wooded area with interesting sculptures on display A couple of nicely presented retail shops with the usual arty items in one, and old furniture at very good prices in the other Well worth a visit on a quiet afternoon out

There is a lovely relaxing atmosphere here. The staff are are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. We especially enjoyed the cream teas. It is great to learn the history of the windmill, to read about the restoration work and see how the local children have been engaged to help provide a pleasant experience for looking around this historic building and nearby woodland.
Visited with daughter today for lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed, food excellent, staff friendly. Plenty of room to eat out but as it was cooler today we dined inside. Noticed a play area for children. Good parking area with designated disabled parking area.
Stopped off on a bikepacking trip and had a coffee - lovely location and nice cuppa. Very friendly staff. And very handy to have a bike shop on site as my groupset went into crash mode as I left!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
