Bodie our yellow Labrador has just returned from his latest stay with Dena, Richard, and staff at Wychwood. We have used the kennels for over 30 years and can honestly say that the care and attention lavished on all of our dogs is nothing short of first class. All of the staff clearly love animals and we are always happy to go on holiday knowing Bodie is in good hands and will be well looked after.
We have used Wychwood for many years now and have boarded both of our dogs at the kennels. The care and dedication by Dena and Richard cannot be bettered. Our previous dog needed extra care as she was old and needed medication and a special diet. No problem ever she had the best care possible. Our present dog is well loved and loves all the members of staff. I cannot praise these kennels enough we feel warmly welcomed when we arrive as does our little Jack Russell. Please ignore bad reviews we cannot praise the kennels and Dena Richard and all staff enough and wouldn't go anywhere else. Great place great people wonderful care
We have used Wychwood Kennels for the last 2 years. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats. They all are boarded here when we are on holiday. Our elderly Siamese has digestive problems and we have struggled with veterinary help to keep him in check for several years. Imagine our amazement when we arrive to collect them after holidays to find Sidney the Siamese had put on weight and was able to digest his food. This was because they changed his diet to something that we would never have known about or been advised to try by the vet. He is now 15. I believe he would no longer be here if it wasn’t for their knowledge, professionalism and expertise. I would highly recommend Wychwood all our animals are well cared for and return happy and in good health.
staff / Dena always very friendly and look after my beagle George really well : I use the kennels every week and when on my holidays. I can't thank them all enough for there help and support/guidance. I'd be lost without these kennels. Really good team of staff who always make me and George feel very relaxed and welcome every time I'm there. In beatiful grounds. Great location. Thanks again guys for looking after George while I was away and of course when he comes for doggy day care : Would always recommend these kennels excellent service.
After reading a bad review on here I was shocked so decided to write my own experience - ignore the haters! How anyone can fault them is beyond me; I have never met a company more professional and friendly! Hugo has been to quite a few different kennels as has anxiety and trouble settling in - he used to cry when we left him elsewhere. However, he now barks when he gets down the lane and realises where he is going, and jumps straight out of the car and into it when he arrives with lots of tail wagging! In fact he doesn't even notice you leave now, he just runs off with them! Everyone is extremely friendly and you can tell how much they love animals; every time we drop/pick up and see them with other dogs too they spoil them rotten with lots of attention! A great location means he gets plenty of woodland walks which he loves, and a lot of playtime! You can tell how much time and effort everyone puts in - he's always relaxed and never wants to leave! He always leaves in such a great condition too - always super soft and doesn't smell of "kennels" like previous places. Another big mention is how wonderful and caring the staff are - even after being extremely busy and fully booked they have managed to squeeze him in last minute when we had a few health issues at home - they could have easily said no but they didn't. 5* service, please don't listen to bad reviews as they are amazing! Lovely kennels and cattery. Dena and Richard always give high priority to the welfare and safety of the animals in their care. My two dogs love going there and are always happy to be led off to their 'holiday home' for a week. Dog kennels are kept cool and breezy in the summer and warm during the winter if temperatures are low.
AVOID!!!!! Went to pick my two dogs up a day early today. They were filthy, their coats all greasy and covered in urine. The smell was horrendous. Both my dogs are fully house trained, and have been for years. Their coats were all matted on their stomachs from being constantly wet. It's disgusting. Not only that, they only had two staff on. I had to go down to get my dogs as the bloke obviously couldn't handle two dogs on his own. Absolutely ridiculous, a complete waste of £200!!!! I don't understand, three years ago they looked after our oldest dog while we were away. When we came to get him he'd been groomed, he smelt wonderful and was fluffy and happy. New staff? New management? Whatever the reason, we'll be avoiding Wychwood. And will be telling our friends and family to do the same.
Just got our 13 year old doggie back from Wychwood Kennels after a long weekend away, we couldn't be happier with the level of care and love our doggie has been given. We would happily recommend this lovely caring family who treat the dogs as if they were their own. Thank you. Chris and Jackie
Have used Wychwood for 25 years, 3 cavaliers who are no longer with us, and now cavalier number 4, plus Tigger the Bengal from one of Dena’s litters bred at wychwood. Our pets have always loved their holidays there, and Dena, Richard, Katie and staff have looked after them so well, from being babies to frail old men. The care and attention has always been appropriate and loving.
Would like to thank wychwood kennels for looking after our dog trixie. It was her first time in kennels she is 8 year old we were very worried about leaving her but when we pick her up after 15 day away she looked bright and happy it was lovely to see she had been so well looked after. I would definitely recommend the kennels.
