I was on the G141 level 3 High Fashion, Media and SFX hair and makeup course and got the diploma last year. This course opened so many doors in my career and I am now involved with things like Cheshire Fashion Week and have close connections with fashion designers in Manchester and Liverpool, all due to the opportunities this course gave me to show my work and network with the right people. Michelle, the makeup tutor, is a great teacher and definitely pushed me to the best of my abilities. For that I will be forever grateful. Highly recommend this course to anyone who is wanting a successful career in the makeup industry and to be taken seriously with a qualification behind them. Thank you Wirral met
2 year HND course photography is a mess and a joke Wirral met senior staff have no clue how to deal with adults! The lack of facility’s for the course is astounding why take peoples money offer a course and do that??nThen on a trip! We found out from a conversation that the top upnDegree is cancelled!! Amazing they haven’t even told us!! And has left us all stuck looking for places to study!nAvoid like the plague place is a total mess and a sham!
If you have ANY sort of learning, educational or disability requirement, Do not enrol here, shameful lack of support for students to the point of discriminatory practices.
Would not recommend Wirral Met College. Had a very poor experience as my tutor did not have an understanding of the current qualification or any relevant or up-to-date knowledge of the subject. After multiple students putting forward complaints about the tutor, she left part way through the year and my tutor group was left for 2 months without a replacement. A great deal of our work did not match the marks we predicted to receive and many of the students were forced to re-write whole assignments baring in mind we all also had full-time jobs and study was intended to be part-time. I raised this issue to the fee appeals department who completely disregarded the information I had provided and did not send any sort of confirmation of the outcome of my appeal. Suspiciously the person dealing with my appeal called me to advise of the outcome after I chased this up, and stated there was no grounds for an appeal. I have subsequently moved my studies to LJMU who have been amazing and provide significantly more support for study and general advice.
I don't rate Wirral Met at all so I will not recommend this so called learning facility.nAs for the the reviews on here I've noticed that most are from LOCAL GUIDES. These people have probably not taken a course in the college & only been on a vist like OFSTED do. Tutors are not helpful it took students to email & phone universities to confirm that they DO take students with Level 2 maths & English as they are the equivalent to GCSE'S. these universities include, HOPE, JMU, UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL, EDGE HILL, CHESTER, MANCHESTER Among others around the UK.nnI recommend the CITY OF LIVERPOOL COLLEGE over Wirral Met
