On the open evening they will tell you they are employment focused for apprenticeships, what they don’t tell you is you have to find your own which is not easy in the current climate. It’s difficult to communicate with staff, there is no accountability for mistakes they make often and the reality is if you can’t find your own trade apprenticeship they give you 12 weeks then you’re off the course. They promise a 3 way relationship between college-student-employer but their actual words further down the line are they they are merely a conduit, with only a loose contract in place, they can’t enforce employers to provide a contract to your child, they have nothing to enforce and support is bare minimum. My son wasted 2 years of his life, trying to pursue his passion of being a joiner, do not be fooled by the promises this college make. Explore other options and other educational establishments.
Without a doubt the worst education setting I've come across and had to deal with in 22 years of sending my kids to school/college/university. I wish I’d gone with my gut instinct and persuaded my son not to enrol at Wirral Waters. He’s wasted 12 months at this college but thankfully moving on this year. Everything from the lack of support, education, feedback and contact is just terrible. Trying to make contact with tutors or anybody higher is like trying to get blood from a stone! When you do finally get a call back nothing they actually set out, or promise happens. Their safeguarding procedures are none existent and actually horrifying. Whether you’re in a more adult setting or not, 16 year olds are still in higher education by law and therefore the college has a duty of care. They massively failed us here. I’ve never been so let down, disappointed and disgusted by an education setting. I wish Id taken our issue further so that it doesn’t happen again to anybody else. If you have read this far and are considering sending your son or daughter here, or attending yourself, I would highly consider other options as you’d be making a huge mistake and wasting your time.
Unable to get a clear answer from staff re next steps. Certificates not sent out. No clarity on actual courses. My son has repeated the same course for 2 years. Completely frustrating. Poor disability awareness.
I was on the G141 level 3 High Fashion, Media and SFX hair and makeup course and got the diploma last year. This course opened so many doors in my career and I am now involved with things like Cheshire Fashion Week and have close connections with fashion designers in Manchester and Liverpool, all due to the opportunities this course gave me to show my work and network with the right people. Michelle, the makeup tutor, is a great teacher and definitely pushed me to the best of my abilities. For that I will be forever grateful. Highly recommend this course to anyone who is wanting a successful career in the makeup industry and to be taken seriously with a qualification behind them. Thank you Wirral met
2 year HND course photography is a mess and a joke Wirral met senior staff have no clue how to deal with adults! The lack of facility’s for the course is astounding why take peoples money offer a course and do that??nThen on a trip! We found out from a conversation that the top upnDegree is cancelled!! Amazing they haven’t even told us!! And has left us all stuck looking for places to study!nAvoid like the plague place is a total mess and a sham!
