After many years at this practice I am very disappointed with things, you can't get an appointment face to face I waited 3 weeks for a telephone appointment. Recently I have been unable to order repeat prescriptions online. I am seriously thinking of changing my gp.
Just spoken to a nice young receptionist on the phone. Very polite and patient. I can't speak for all of the receptionists. I usually dread calling or going in in person as one of the women who works on reception looks and speaks right down at you. I know you're busy, but we all have busy jobs. I work 12 hour shifts 5 days a week but I still manage to find manners. Bravo to the nice young woman though! They can learn from you x
I've been a patient of this practice for many years and can't believe some of the reviews. I've always had excellent service, sure they are busy and it can be difficult to get appointments occasionally. However the staff, office and medical, are always helpful and polite. I think patients should remember to treat them with manners and patience and keep their appointments. A few please and thank you's go a long way.
I have to say I had a first class service today And feel very lucky to have this fantastic Surgery. The lovely receptionist who was so helpful, &caring .And the Clinicion Stephanie was just wonderful couldnt have had anyone nicer. Thank you Everyone. We are so lucky to have the NHS service !!! I telephoned the surgery and after a short wait spoke to a helpful receptionist who said a doctor would telephone me. I received a telephone call within an hour and after explaining the problem I was given an appointment the same day. The consultation took place in an extremely safe manner. I have always had fantastic service from this practice.
I have been with the surgery almost a year now. In that year it has drastically gotten worse. Initially I had no issues, their patient care was incredible. Even getting check up calls from the Dr which I had not planned on. I couldn't praise them enough. Then....Things started to wither.
I had no option but to leave this practice after many years of what I thought at the time was good service. I then found out after having to ask for an onward referral, that the symptoms I had been experiencing for over 5 years which had been dismissed time after time by several GPs needed urgent surgical intervention to prevent further neurological decline and complete paralysis. If I have learnt anything from my experience here, it is that you know your own body better than anyone else and if you’re not satisfied with the advice you’re given, ask for a second or even third opinion. The GPs here may be good at every day medical problems but apparently clueless when it comes to spotting the less common ones!
Just been for a flu vaccination. I am so impressed. My appointment was booked for 9:02. I arrived to a short queue, they had what could only be described as a conveyor belt process. I had my temp checked at the door and hands sanitized, booked in with reception, greeted by further staff showing you where to go, plenty of staff carrying out the vaccinations all through a one way system, you don't have to touch anything, so there is no risk to anyone. From queuing to getting back in my car took 5 minutes. Astounding service, keep it up Windhill Team, you are all amazing and a true credit to the NHS.
My appointment has been cancelled twice by them, I understand staff can be poorly. However, when I spoke them they said I'd have to have a telephone appointment which I had already done but did again anyway. After a lot of cancellations and poor communication I have been given an appointment for the end of the month which is 7 weeks after my original cancellation! Such poor service
I’ve been with this surgery since 2007 and it’s rapidly gone into free fall. It’s impossible to get an appointment and the online system is very very poor. The doctors themselves are lovely but they are currently so stretched that they try to get rid of you as quickly as possible. Absolutely terrible surgery now leaving me feel like I don’t actually have a GP. I’m afraid of getting ill because I just don’t think they have the resources to support me if I do. :
