Proper cutlery, proper crockery and table service adds to the lovely nostalgic feel. The food's pretty good too. More expensive than its rivals, but worth it. Better food, better experience.
Lovely, smiley, friendly staff. Food expensive & unfortunately does not live up to the price tag.
Very delicious food and very kind staff. Short waiting time for food.
This store has been open since the 1970s. I haven’t visited in 30 years. Looking for nostalgia and a place to feed and delight some American guests we popped into Wimpy yesterday. The place was clean, the service friendly and prompt. The food was utterly dreadful. Not poisonous or unhygienically delivered. Just so utterly underwhelming that I was trying to imagine how they are still open - one of the success stories of the moribund Broadmarsh Centre. It was as if the chef had spent three years researching the subtle art of making food lacklustre. He or she had succeeded in making string/like fries and disastrously dull burgers as bland and insipid as possible without rinsing them under a cold tap for fourteen hours to help the flavour leak out. I left feeling disgusting on the inside and wondering how they get away charging the better part of £9 for the sort of burger that would embarrass a stolen food operator van at a biker festival.
Excellent place to eat. The most noticeable thing about this place is the high level of cleanliness. It is one of the cleanest places I have ever eaten. Floors, tables, chairs all immaculate. The food is great as well fresh and quick and the staff are lovely and friendly. Some people have said the prices are high but I think for what you get the prices are very reasonable. All in all its a clean and friendly place to eat a good fresh meal in. Look forward to my next visit.
Simple, almost basic food. Good size portions. If you take a meal, most likely you will not finish it, none of us managed anyway. Served quickly. The place looks like it stuck in 80s but this not a bad thing at all.
I visit this Wimpy fairly regularly as there are barely any left in the country! The staff are always incredibly accommodating. I always enjoy their meals which are served promptly after ordering and the staff always seem to be cleaning so it must be very have a high rating of health and hygiene. Thanks again Wimpy
Everything on the menu is very high in carbs and sugar. I can imagine that eating here often would lead to diabetes and obesity. As a one off it is expensive compared with similar establishments at £7.10 for a quartpounder with cheese bacon and fries. However you do get waiter service so it is more upmarket than most fast food restaurants.
Terrible. Next time I'll try harder to find a Wetherspoons. Fish cooked to fast so rare on the inside. Peas like canon balls and not drained properly so water under the food. Not sure if the chips ever saw a potato. And served by staff who obviously think that going in and having a meal an hour before closing is not on.
Absolutely LOVE this Wimpy's. It's a great trip down memory lane, not to mention the service and food is amazing. Sad to see so few Wimpy's exist. Hope this one doesn't disappear any time soon!!
