Enquired about trying to find a used gearbox. Said I was trying to save money rather than buy a refurbished one then proceeded to hang up on me. Charming.
This the first and last time I will use this company! I took a cylinder head to them in good condition be pressure tested. However when the head was returned to me it had deep sanding scratches all over the head face and the sealing compound had been left on from testing. The head had recently been refaced, but now I can’t fit it to the vehicle without paying for it to be refaced again. I called the company I usually use and they confirmed there was no need to sand the head with sand paper or to leave the sealing compound on, and the head should have been returned to me as I supplied it, in good condition ready to fit on the car.
Great Service from Wimborne Motors. had a fault on the engine diagnosis and it was rectified very quickly, not bad considering 2 other garages could not fix it. Will go there for all my work now. Very reasonable prices.
What can I say! Andy is a good engineer or mechanic whichever. However he is very good at ripping of his clients from left and right, also in the middle! I took my vehicle to him for break problems. It suppose to be straight forward work and it shouldn't be more than £300 to £400 most. By the way when I present this figures I've been very generous! First, as a owner of a shop, the client suppose to know how much it will cost to repair a vehicle etc. If the price agreed, the repairer goes ahead with it. If not, than the owner of the vehicle takes his vehicle away. I didn't have a phone call about the cost of repairing my vehicle. When I phone to Andy, he gave me a cost of nearly £1200. I thought he was pulling my leg but this guy was very serious. Anyway cut the story short, I wouldn't recommend anybody to take their vehicles to him. I am sure most of these clients got ripped off by him for astronomical cost for a simple repair job like mine. I believe in KARMA and I know one day that you will regret what you do to those customers who leave their vehicle to you in good faith. As I warn you, pay back time will get you one day. You wait and see. You will regret but it will be too late as you already had the option.
Andy is a master at lengthening or shortening balancing and refurbishing propshafts, alway come back looking brand new. Amazing work highly recommend this garage.
I've been taking my car to Andy for 2009. Trustworthy, reliable and fair prices, not to mention very helpful and friendly. I've moved out of the immediate area but still take my car there. Highly recommended.
Told me I needed a gearbox governor and cost would be £350 - £400 + VAT. Charged me £30 for information. Went to a different mechanic who tightened the kick-down cable and got everything running perfectly. Charge was £50 yes fifty NOT the £500 Wimborne motors would have charged!! Make your own judgement
Excellent family run business. Andy is incredibly reliable and honest for the work that is required. I have been using Wimborne Motors for over ten years. Highly recommended!!!
