We are a very friendly members club offering squash, badminton and a fully equipped air-conditioned gym. The club offers competitive and recreational badminton and squash for all levels in a friendly and fun environment; alongside a functional gym with a wide range of fitness equipment. I’m very grateful to have this club nearby. There’s a high standard of squash here and it’s great to watch the pros play. Lots of opportunity to play squash in Box leagues, the Surrey division or club nights and training sessions and the head coach, Phil, organises frequent events/tournaments at the club that are well organised and well attended.
Great badminton facility with a nice bar café inside. Changing is clean. Badminton courts are fantastic. Great venue. Guest fee necessary for a casual booking. So nice.
We came to eat here after seeing food reviews on Instagram saying they had the best Thai food, so our hopes were high. Unfortunately, the Thai curry didn't meet our expectations as we've had much better ones elsewhere. It was very average, and it didn't taste fresh, like it had been heated up, so that was a bit disappointing. However, we also ordered the basic salmon and cream cheese bagel as well which was done well and delicious. Overall, I'd say the food is good, but nothing special to come out of the way for.
Might be the most expensive place to play badminton I've found in the area. Also silly things like lockers only accept £1 coins but neither reception or the bar would give you coins in exchange for bills. I have also been charged £95 via Direct Debit and still waiting for some explanation it's been two months since I've raised it with receptionists so we'll see. On the good side: players of all levels, training available, food and bar, gym included in the membership, parking. They also offer protein shakes at the bar for a good price, however I wish they would prepare them right in front of you not go in the back for this. UPDATE: my £95 was sorted so will up my review to 4 stars, but side note: it took 3 months.
The Racquet and Squash area is perfect. The gym area is a bit small, but fully equipped with all the machines and also has a Sauna room. There is a cafe in house where you can chill with friends. A very good place. I would surely recommend.
Top class for badminton & squash, with 1st class courts, suitable for all, including professional players. Lots of organised group sessions or you can book courts and arrange matches yourself. Free car park and a good gym. I have been a member for over 20 years now and still go there regularly.
Regularly use the gym. Good equipment and very local so works really well.
Not worth it at all, I paid £13 to play as a non member. Went for the first time to the improvers and beginners badminton session. The website when booking a court was not updated and says 5.30-7.30pm for improvers session. Met a coach in the beginners area, was told by him that I’d come late and should come on time, he didn’t seem very friendly at all. Watched me play and said I needed a lot of improvement, even though I’ve been playing at national tournaments. For the first half an hour, he made us practise serves and backhand shots and I really felt I was wasting my time. He finally let us play and even though I was clearly winning every match, he would say I have a lot to improve on. I felt he had a personal problem against me. He let another pair in our group, go to the other side where once graded, they get to play matches. I will never come back again as I feel I will be stuck there with a coach who is stubborn, doesn’t acknowledge the fact that I was not challenged during my games, as they were too easy and constantly being treated like someone who’s never played badminton before. He was very demotivating and constantly criticising. I was really looking forward to playing some matches but left so disappointed. He asked if I was there to just play or was actually serious about a membership. I think he just wanted people to sign up and didn’t care about anything else. Never gave me any constructive feedback and I left feeling very disheartened.
Historic, badminton and squash clubs that has seen many a legend grace its courts. Still home to a number of elite international players, as well as successful junior academies and a thriving social badminton and squash scene. This is a members' club but non-members are invited to book and join certain open sessions for a guest fee. They're also invited to join as members. Facilities include badminton and squash courts, showers and changing rooms, a gym and a bar. Badminton courts have wooden sprung flooring and are fantastic to play on. However, rest of the facilities reflect the buildings' age and is in need of modernisation.
The club has decent facilities specially the squash court 1 and 2 are very well maintained. I highly recommend Phil for coaching he is very professional, friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. The club has very competitive players of all ages and background. Generally the staff is very friendly the only place club need to invest more is towards GYM facilities. But overall I recommend it
