The Wiltshire Law Centre is a registered charity, established in 1981 and has provided free independent advice on a range of issues through the years. Currently we provide advice on Housing, Debt, Employment and Welfare Benefits
We are contracted to the Legal Aid Agency and also contracted under the Housing Possession Court Duty scheme.
We deal with a wide range of Housing issues for both Council and private tenants. Problems with housing associations, housing benefit queries and claims, repair issues with landlords, mortgage arrears and repossession are all dealt with by us.
We offer advice to clients on all aspects of debt including Council Tax arrears and dealing with Enforcement Officers, information on Bankruptcy and Debt Relief Orders if referred from Greensquare Housing.
Employment: we offer a Pro-bono advice clinic in the evenings by appointment – please phone for details.
We currently have 5 advisors who between them have over 50 years experience. They include a Senior Solicitor, skilled caseworkers and our newest recruit is our Trainee Solicitor.
We are actively fundraising to ensure the survival of Wiltshire Law Centre and the services it provides to the people of Swindon and Wiltshire.
