Not a very good college. Majority of the staff are so rude and uncaring and have a disgusting attitude. The whole premises is very old fashioned and dilapidated inside, it could do with a major refurbishment - It is absolutely atrocious! Some of the staff are also very abrupt and on a few occasions have been known to swear which in my opinion is not at all professional and very disrespectful. Some staff don't even acknowledge you! The classrooms are very, very dirty and are quite miserable. I cannot stress enough that if you are considering becoming a student at the college, I suggest that you should look elsewhere - preferably somewhere where it is more friendly and clean!

Wigan and Leigh College is a state General Further and Higher Education College based at six locations in the towns of Wigan and Leigh in Greater Manchester, England, United Kingdom. Currently there are over 1,000 staff members employed, and more than 17,000 students enrolled in full-time or part-time courses. The college's programmes of study include: General Certificate of Education (GCSEs), BTEC First Diplomas, Advanced Level (UK), National Diplomas, Higher National Diplomas and First Degrees. Wigan and Leigh College was formed in April 1992 through the merger of Wigan College of Technology (formerly Wigan Mining and Technical College) and Leigh College.

I've only done one year so far and at the beginning of the year I was really enjoying it but we got a new teacher and any time you feel like you're doing good, he puts you down. It just isn't a nice environment anymore I don't enjoy going here anymore, can't wait to leave next year. Although I have met amazing people, and made fantastic friendships ☺️ that's probably the one good thing to come from this college.

Great modern college and good free courses for adults, but it's just a shame they never respond to you or pass the message on. In fact I can't remember when they have ever replied to an email or got someone to ring me back?

At Wigan and Leigh college I am studying on the PHP (professionals honors program). On this I am doing the Engineering route which includes Maths, Physics, Economics and Computing. This course is very beneficial and i think one of the best courses out there . I also get a work placement which college arranges. The tutors are very friendly and always have your best interests . They are always there for extra help and learn you to your best ability. The overall review of the college is excellent.
