I live in Dartford and visiting Ashford wikes was brilliant. It is a larger store and so much more instore. The staff are quite helpful. They brought the stuff to the car outside which was helpful. The store has a huge selection. Ample parking too.
My elderly mother is currently undergoing a bathroom renovation. Although the contract was signed in June 2025 with an agreed start date and finish date, work did not commence until early September. Six weeks on, the bathroom remains incomplete. The contractor’s attendance has been sporadic, typically once or twice a week, often for just a few hours. Despite repeated complaints, while they appear to listen, no meaningful action has been taken to resolve the delays or complete the project. We still do not know when the completion is due. Again today, Dave the, fitter has not turned up and no reason for absence was given!! When you're investing over £10,000 in a bathroom renovation and left without essential facilities for an extended period, a basic level of care and professionalism should be expected. My advice to others: think carefully before committing, and insist on a guaranteed completion date when signing the contract. I can understand and accept minor delays, but dragging things out for over six weeks is simply unacceptable. I’m more than willing to provide evidence to Wickes to support everything stated here, should they wish to follow up and take steps toward resolving the situation. THE REPLY BELOW FROM WICKES IS JUST A MOCKERY !! NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT, UNTIL NOW. AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT IT WILL BE….:
As soon as I stepped into the store I was greeted by CHRIS. He had a warm smile and asked if he could be of assistance. I told him about the project I was currently doing and he was so helpful. What I had in mind regarding products, he suggested another option which was more beneficial saved me money and would make the job easier. His product knowledge, people skills and personality for one so young was impressive. This young man will go a long way in life with the right opportunities.
Never had a issue with wickes non of the timber I've ordered is in bad quality, clearly care about quality when picking orders and getting it accurate all the time, always has good offers on quality timber and other products highly recommend wickes for your building materials
Particularly nice since the renovation. Never as busy as B&Q. The quality of the wood tends to be higher. Far fewer bowed straight edges. As a result of being less busy, there's always car parking, and rarely a line at the checkout.
