There is a ridiculous lack of cycle racks none nor suitable areas to lock your bike to, which is fairly ridiculous considering the massive carpark that is seldom full.nnOtherwise the store is fine, a fairly handy local store stocking most DIY products, staff are generally helpful although some lack the energy or enthusiasm to help, and I've had a better experience from other stores such as Stirling
The click and collect function worked well. Shame the actual store feels like it's in the final stages before closing down so not a huge amount to see compared to what's on their website.
AVOID AVOID AVOIDnnOrdered fence panels Thursday, was pleasantly surprised to see delivery was to be Saturday so organised a joiner to come fit the fence. Text received Saturday am to say Delivery between 8 and 12, able to track direct from City Sprint....so far so good....suddenly no tracking available to me 2 hours before delivery and no delivery came!!nnWICKES had the cheek to call me 40 mins after delivery was due to say the panels couldn't fit in the van and they'd come Monday now, obviously I wasn't happy so was transferred to a so called Manager who had an attitude straight away, no offer to refund carriage charge, I had to ask, tell them!!nnI'll never use this company again, this don't care attitude gets no more sales from me or my family and friends
A brilliant place, I wish I had come here instead of buying a lot of hardware things on Amazon. The prices here are surprisingly low including this paint which was £10! They went to good lengths to control the number of customers and attempt to promote social distancing during COVID-19.nnBest of all was the staff; very helpful and lovely. Really enjoyed my visit and look forward to coming back. I really hope people look here for their goods before before going online.nThey have click and collect too.
I had my bathroom redone with Wickes.nnThe initial installer they sent out quoted me around 3 times the original quote. It was only when I tried to cancel that Wickes queried the costs.nnThe delivery was missing the toilet. No one got in touch to confirm when this was being delivered or if any action was needed from me. I had to phone once the installation had started to check if it was even ordered. A heating element and a bath panel were also missing.nnThe consultant told me that Wickes would cover this as it was their error and I assumed delivery would be arranged, only for the same consultant to then tell my installer that I was ‘more than happy to pay for it’. I had to chase several times to get him to refund me as I had to pay the installer for the missing pieces but he never acknowledged/apologised for his mistake as he was supposed to order these. It was extremely frustrating as I had phoned, emailed and texted to no response. It was the lovely installer who spoke to him and got it sorted.nnOnce I had paid I found that I could not contact my designated customer support person either which meant I had to explain the whole situation again every time that I phoned which was several times due to the problems.nnThe installer was amazing and helped by purchasing everything that Wickes failed to provide but it was a very stressful experience given the price paid.nnUPDATE: Wickes asked me to contact them and never got back to me…
