Not usually one to do this, but… we visited Wickes in Thurmaston today to have a look at bathrooms we’re looking for a bathroom refurb. We had a look around and approached the lady working and explained we were after just a simple refurb, didn’t want to spend loads but just wanted to do a bit of a like for like. We were instantly told by the lady ‘this will be 9-11k’ without her even asking what we have, size, style etc etc. to which we just said ‘thank you’ and left - absolutely shocking customer/sales service, didn’t even seem half interested in talking to us and, to be frank, didn’t look like she wanted to be there.
I usually don’t like to give negative feedback and I am a regular customer at this branch of wickes and it’s always a pleasant experience. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Visited on the afternoon of the 27th March and this is the first time I have come across where the two ladies at the tills were really rude and had an attitude! Had a problem with a payment method and I was made to feel like I was the problem even though the lady didn’t choose the right payment method and this was an error on her side! These staff need some training in customer service!
Received several orders from the Thurmaston store in recent weeks. Each time items were missing from the order an no one contacts you even after going through customer services. No automatic refund was given either. I received a further order last week and several packs of insulation were soaked through. A week later after complaining I still have no response from them. I had to go and purchase more from another store whilst awaiting contact. Very disappointing service the last three times I've used them this month. Adam
Where can I start? The customer service team at this place is purely shocking. No respect for the customers at all especially the manager. Came here to return something as it wasn’t working properly. Only works for a certain amount then it doesn’t. Explained this to them and they weren’t having it. Why would I waste my time and journey just to be shown attitude. If you don’t like to work here then please do us a favour and leave. Better of going elsewhere like B&Q , Screwfix, Toolstation etc

I have used wickes at thurmaston a few times using click and collect and one time I needed to change an item I found that all staff involved were extremely helpful and polite
Thurmaston branch has fantastic items and very good sales. However, the customer service from the people who work there is appalling. Just plain rude and unhelpful for the most part.
Had issues with my shower mixer. Thermostat had a leak. I rang the store spoke to store manager Russell. He was very understanding and professional. This was the second time i had the same issue and on both occasions received excellent service from Russell. Top Man.
Never deal with them again . fit my kitchen 2 years back since then always have issue and still chasing for repairs.
I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Wickes' abysmal customer service, and I must say it was one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever encountered. From start to finish, it was evident that they have absolutely no regard for their customers, as they completely ignored my valid concerns and failed to follow their own supposed complaints procedure. First and foremost, getting in touch with their customer service department was a nightmare in itself. After being put on hold for what felt like an eternity, I finally managed to speak to a representative who seemed utterly disinterested in my issue. The lack of empathy and understanding was striking; it was as if they were just waiting for me to hang up so they could move on to the next call. Even after diligently following their complaint procedure, which required filling out an online form, I received no acknowledgement or confirmation that my complaint had been received. It was disheartening to realize that Wickes had no interest in addressing customer grievances, even when it was their fault. After a few days of waiting, I decided to follow up on my complaint via email, hoping that maybe someone would actually take the time to look into my issue. However, to my dismay, I received no response whatsoever. It was as though my concerns had been tossed into a black hole, never to be seen or heard of again. At this point, I was left with no choice but to visit the physical store to seek resolution in person. To my utter disbelief, the store staff seemed indifferent to my complaint and showed no inclination to assist me. It was evident that they had no regard for the issues customers face and were only interested in making sales. The most frustrating part of this entire ordeal was Wickes' complete lack of accountability. They preach about their commitment to customer satisfaction and their supposedly robust complaints procedure, but in reality, it's all just empty rhetoric. Their actions, or rather, lack of action, speak volumes about their disregard for customers' concerns. I urge anyone considering purchasing a bathroom at Wickes to think twice. Their products may be decent, but if you encounter any issues, be prepared to be treated like a mere nuisance rather than a valued customer. I, for one, will never step foot in a Wickes store again after this appalling experience. There are plenty of other retailers out there that actually care about their customers and stand by their promises of good customer service. Wickes is certainly not one of them.
