Unfortunately it is quite expensive. But it does have a post office. Which is good. When its open that is. But the staff in WH Smith are helpful
Great shop in general. Needs more staff on at the post office over lunchtime though. The queuing wait time is unsatisfactory. If you need to use post office desperately and do not have much time, I suggest that you plan ahead and remind yourself to go days before your deadline, because if you are in a hurry or on your lunchbreak you may have to leave before you are served.
More staff in Smiths now so people on hand to help with questions. Lots of bargains and things to do for kids. BIG CLEARANCE on now downstairs.
The checkout area is crazy! It's crammed and filled with promotions, which when the store is full of customers queuing to be served it makes it even more crammed. Then some genius decided to put the self serve tills on the same route as the normal checkouts. So anyone trying to get to the self serve has to hussle past the queue of customers waiting to be served at the normal check out. And trying to do that when you are weighed down with shopping bags makes for a really enjoyable experience. Not. I'd advise that this lay out be looked at Otherwise, staff were lovely cheery and helpful
Not the shop I remember and used to love! They had actually completely run out of sellotape of all things and the Amazon gift card I wanted to buy would not work on their machine! I was informed that this was the case with all of the Amazon gift cards! Quick exit over to reliable Wilkos!
My favorite WHSmith store. The shop is huge with lots of books, a huge range of magazines and stationery. They even have a bargain section downstairs, where the Post Office is located. It has everything you need. My only gripe is that it is expensive and long ques can build up at the checkout, as it is self service only.
Cluttered..dis-organised..not enough post office staff but the staff present were very good at being rude to the customers. My children were traumatised at the end of our visit as the Manager had lost a button on his shirt and his hairy belly button frightened them!!!
I have to say that I normally don't shop in wh smiths. But this one has a clearance outlet and I decided to go in. I was pleasantly surprised. The shop is set out well not like the normal wh smiths. It was light and you could find what you were looking for. The clearance part was downstairs next to the post office and we picked up some bargains.
Sometimes staff reluctant to serve if only one customer. They encourage use of self service till which inevitably goes wrong meaning they have to help anyway and it takes ten times as long as them scanning on ordinary till.
WH Smith still the place to go for books, stationery etc however there is far too much clutter in the aisles and not enough room for someone in a disability walker/buggy. The place is bursting with great products unfortunately it looks like a poundstore or a refuge storage area.
