We stayed 3rd of April 23 for 2 nights but had to leave early as there was no facilities open for us to be able to eat. Their website states bar and restaurant available but this is actually closed Monday through to Thursday so left us without any dinner so we had to walk to the nearest town which is 1 1/4 miles to Millbrook which is down the steepest road.we came on holiday as expected to be able to have a drink in the bar but was a shame we couldn't. Lovely walks to the beach. Walkability: Beautiful beach stunning views
It was a foggy day so unfortunately we didn’t get to see the views, although they will be stunning on a good day. The site was really clean and well maintained. Special thanks to Kirsty in reception who was brilliant and helped us as well as being super friendly! Thanks Kirsty!
Be careful when visiting guests...I received a £100 parking fine for visiting my friend and their family at this location. When using their designated parking space of their lodge. Parked there when visiting before with no issues. My friends were not aware of this policy and own a lodge there. When I rang to query it, the manager lied to me numerous times stating the parking is nothing to do with them and then later corrected themselves to admit they hire the company. Didn't offer to help me in anyway with this ridiculous charge. Would have cost less to rent a lodge for the weekend. Message received was just... tough. Terrible customer service. The entire site is now pay and display and ANPR monitored. Pro tip - you can park outside the location on the road for free to avoid the stupidity of this new system.
Fantastic long weekend. We stayed in Lodge 12. spectacular views. Listening to owls hoot at night. Fantastic food, fab staff, all work really hard to made us feel special. Pool was worth the wait. we originally booked 2018. Brilliant walks, we look forward to returning. Camping /caravans /etc all excellent. Elvis act was funny. Cider was cold . Food hot. Beach awesome. We hired paddle boards . Sun sets were out of this world. Good job team !
Under new management. Swimming pool has been redone but not open for our week long stay. Prices have been put up to reflect the revamp. Parking is charged too so don't drop by to visit you pal in a tent as it will cost you heaps. Many new buildings with toilets and showers but not enough for the full allowance to tents expected. No kitchen for cooking if you are camping. Site can be windy as on high cliff and a steep walk down to the beach. Bar and cafe available for food mornings and evening. If the weather is wet this place can be bleak, if its sunny it can be heaven.
We stayed in a "Tamar suite" which us essentially, a few small wooden huts strung together, but with heating and plumbing, and with a brilliant breakfast thrown in as well! Honestly, we were only there for a wedding, and this was everything we needed, it wasn't exactly spotless, as they had left the bathroom window open, and so there were dead flys, bug droppings etc, but nothing that a quick wipe didn't fix, and it was perfect for a quick stay. Sadly, we didn't get to explore much, but the beach and surrounding countryside looked amazing, plus the breakfast..... ooooh, the breakfast!! It was amazing, would go back just for the brekkie, and the restaurant was really great for dinner as well. All in all, highly recommend, great place, thank you!
Place has nice views but nothing else. Rude staff, one making us feel uncomfortable because we had a pool pass that apparently we needed to pay 24 pounds for 1 hour. This price was for a pool that’s barely bigger than the bath we had. We were locked out and they said they couldn’t help so we sat outside in the cold for 4 hours waiting for help from someone outside the resort. Definitely more accommodating place in the area with better things to offer for a fraction of the price that we paid .
Shame I didn't arrive any earlier but they have a pub with events on Friday and Saturday nights, cafe for the breakfast. Staff are all the friendliest people I have ever met, facilities are very well maintained with even a warm covered pool for family. I went with my campervan there for a night and it was so worth it. Across my Cornwall journey this was the best campsite I have stayed for sure.
We recently stayed in lodge 28 and we were very happy with our stay. The views were stunning, the park has undergone a facelift and the pool is immaculate you must pre book and pay a fee. There’s a cafe with a small shop inside, restaurant and entertainment venue. There was an Elvis impersonator on the Saturday evening and he was one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s a short walk to the beach but be mindful that there are lots of steps. Highly recommended for families and pet friendly too.
Stunning place. We came across it whilst out for a drive. We decided to go into the cafe. The staff are fabulous. Friendly and happy. As for the food!! Make sure you're hungry ;- I had the "small" veggie breakfast. It was in my opinion a medium to large. All freshly cooked and with two large veg bacon slices. Decent cuppa too. I can highly recommend this.
