I completed my last ten days of Ramadan inside this community mosque who provided daily meals to locals and the family-run organisation felt like home. I witnessed the installation of flat screens in their prayer halls. This community centre has a small gym with budget-friendly membership and although caters for the locals they are welcoming towards visitors.
I’ve visited this mosque between Duhr and ASR prayers and found it open which was great. There are lots of parking spaces outside. The mosque is very clean and equipped with toilets and Wudu facilities. There are also more rooms for other activities such as kids room and more.
Mosque near the north east coast and walking distance from Whitley Bay metro station. Mosque comprises of adequate parking, additional large prayer hall, separate prayer hall for women and learning facilities for children.
On the Masjid website it listed Talk on Prophet Muhammad pbuh after Zuhr on 2nd August.nnOn the noticeboard in the entrance hall it listed talks on Prophet Muhammad pbuh on Tuesdays after Zuhr.nnI attended Zuhr on a Tuesday 2nd August and after Zuhr... No talk on Prophet Muhammad pbuh. This was apparently not done due to an event outside with stalls, burger van, bouncy castle etc.nnThe Masjid is arrived at by walking along a lane between the ice rink and Beckman's Store. You go towards Whitley Bay FC and then turn left and see the Masjid ahead of you. Together with phone and pay car park. You go to the right and come to Masjid entrance.nnThe entrance hall has noticeboard and to the right a community hall. To the left is wudu, toilets and committee room. Wudu space for around 5 people.nnThen you come to a nice prayer hall, raspberry colour carpet, white walls and black decoration. The hall probably takes around 190 people. 25 attended Zuhr. There is a bookcase at the back with around 20 books. The sound system is good and clear, the adhan done quite well by elderly muezzin and prayers were respectfully and briskly observed.nnThe welcome outside the building was nice but inside worshippers didn't greet each other very much.nnOverall quite nice and good they are open and doing an event.
Beautiful community had a great experience to lead taraweeh prayers and the hospitality was amazing
