Very pricey place. We had a beer can, pepsi can and sparkly orange drink can for £9.60. Someone threw all the plastic cups to the dirty floor. The staff took them all again from the floor and locate them back on the table for costumers to use them. They didn't have ice in a warm day. Everyone in the staff was looking miserable. In case you're thirsty just go instead to a toilet for tap water, you'll find better service.
Good coffee, pastries, and hot and cold prepared food selection. They have plenty of selections for kids. The gift shop is attached and the cafe is right next to the kids playground and indoor play area. Depending on the time of day it can be crowded and especially noisy due to the volume of families and school field trips that have kids.
A little bit crowded and a little bit noisy, good for a pit stop and the cake and coffee is nice, but ever so expensive and whilst you might expect this in London this cafe is the one nearest the children's area "Climbers and Creepers" so will cost a significant amount if you have a number of mouths to feed.
Organic, fresh food! With many vegan options! Unexpectedly good quality!!! The coffee slightly week, so you may want to ask for 2 shots!
Everything was perfectly fine. We visited shortly before closing time on a weekday. The food was still fresh and very very tasty, and the portion size was adequate, we left with full bellies. Lovely cakes, tasted like homemade. Friendly and helpful staff. The place was moderately busy but we didn’t have to wait to be served. Yes, it’s quite pricey but what else to expect in such a place? Overall, a very positive experience. We would happily visit again.
Nice quiet cafe in Kew Gardens. Lots of sweet treats and tea/coffee, and amazing natural honey pots to buy!
I only ordered chips as everything as very expensive and I wish I saved my money they were like cardboard and cold. My friends said their food was over priced for its quality. I there is London prices but I have had better and cheaper in other locations in London. Plus service was poor and unfriendly. There were pigeons everywhere, even on the tables and baby highchairs. Disappointed for Kew. I don't mind spending money if the quality is reflected in the price, which it was not!
If you have a choice avoid. Way too overpriced for the size of the portions, paper plates... Kew Gardens itself is a completely different story. The place is cast and beautiful. The "restaurant" completely different. I spent almost same price for the food as entry tickets...
Very disapointing and very expensive! Food itself was just about ok. Portions were incredibly small. I had fish stew, it only contained two teaspoon size pieces of fish and a little bit of tomato. I think my 5 year old would have been disappointed with what should have been an adult portion and they charged me 12.00 for it.
Absurdly priced dross. The previous catering company that looked after the cafes at Kew Gardens was way better. These guys are all about measly portions of average food at West London restaurant prices. Service is to match, particularly behind the food counter in white peaks. Such a shame as the rest of the experience at Kew Gardens is excellent. The ice cream is good at least however.
