Had a lovely day in Whitby yesterday lovely spring weather very busy Disappointed with public wc 40 p charges for a dinghy un clean toilets no attendant on duty people struggling to find change Noticed same comments posted last year Ist day of the Easter holidays what a shame really spoilt what was a lovely visit for me
Visited Whitby today 8th September, was disappointed with the local facilities. One public toilet in the whole town and at a cost of 40p per visit. I witnessed elderly people walking away because they did not have the right change. If I had realised you could pay by card which I had too I would of obliged. Once inside I have rarely come across a more dated dingy toilet. Filthy toilets, pools of water on the floor,no hot water and a hand dryer that looked on its last legs. The other public toilet at the bottom of the kyber pass is boarded up, my last visit a few years ago was revolting so it would have not been an option anyway. The huge amount of visitors daily warrants updated, clean, usable facilities it's a disgrace. The weather and views were beautiful as always.
We visited Whitby today 6th September 2021 family members recommended it to us, The Harbour, Church, Abbey were all great. Our main disappointment was how dirty the town presented itself, the streets , benches, bins, There was no visible sign of any council workforce, we know it has been difficult times but sometimes when you are used to looking at something you can't see the wood for the trees, can we suggest you have a walkabout and view the town from a visitors view.
Great Seaside Town with Lots to do and see- Disappointed with the state of the 40p WC-Very Dated-not in great Nick either. Disappointed with a £7 Carpark charge with nothing in-Between-1hr/2hr Then 6hr for £7-why not just an hourly charge like everywhere else. Plus side, very Clean Town- sort the WC's out and carparking and all good.
Thank you whitby . We had a wonderful stay at Abbey view caravan park and the access by whitby Park and ride was so easy. What an amazing place ..we were there on the weekend of whitby regatta and it was all amazing. We did get a view of the red arrows though from the caravan park unlike people in whitby I believe. Keep.up the good work.
To charge 40p to use the toilets opposite the railway station is bad enough but this becomes an insult when taking into account the disgusting state of the facilities. If you are going to charge for what is a basic need, at least make sure that the facility is kept clean. My wife said that in the Ladies there was excrement smeered on the seats of two toilets and one sink, plus there was a lack of toilet paper. The gents were smelly and the floor was strewn with wet toilet paper.
It's the 1st time we have visited Whitby and what a lovely place it is. Nice and clean plenty to do and even nice weather. My only moan is having to pay 40p to use public toilets, men, women and children. It's disgusting if you don't have the correct money you get no change back. It's hardly surprising people let others in through the exit barriers. They're not the cleanest public toilets I've used and my wife said ladies weren't clean too.
Total ripoff parking should be FREE as this is just a tourist town and if it wasn't for tourist you would close. Go to Bamborough Castle instead the parking FREE
