Dropped in to have a rear number plate made for a trailer. As the vehicle is on lease I obtained a letter of authorisation from agent. The man behind the counter told me it was illegal and would not accept this as proof. He then advised me to "make my own from cardboard" which is certainly illegal. Please find below id needed as proof:

temporary registration certificate (V379) (not applicable in Northern Ireland)
authorisation certificate (V948) with an official stamp from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) or Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA)
