Luckily for us staying locally, this pub reopened yesterday! Lovely friendly landlord, made to feel really welcome, great local ale and cider, dog friendly, would highly recommend!
Good traditional pub with a real fire. Robinson's cider is great. Food is good, had huge portion of liver and bacon with onion gravy. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Just had a truly fantastic take away meal from the Wheelwrights pub. We had steak pie, mash and veg, and fish and chips with mushy peas. Excellent food and friendly service 11/10
My husband and I stopped here for lunch today and were very glad we did!. A 'real' pub with very good home cooked food I had the best steak that i have had for a very long time!. The owners were very friendly and welcoming.
Very friendly staff. Will do what they can to help. Chris and Roly are fab. Food is top notch and a friendly atmosphere all round, even with the locals it's a good place to be.
Quiet little pub, good beer on tap. Very friendly staff, would definitely visit again!
A great little pub as pubs used to be. Had a good lunch served by a very happy landlady. Well worth a visit, shall return.
Visited recently whilst in the area. For a Sunday night in a very small village the place had a fair number of people in the bar. Found out from chatting with one of the landlords that due to illness they aren't able to offer the full menu from their website at the moment, instead there were chalkboards displayed saying they are offering basket meals currently scampi & chips etc. It also appears from the note on the door we saw each day that they are only opening in the evenings, not for lunch at present. When we entered there was brief "you aren't local" vibe from some of the customers, however the landlord & lady were welcoming towards us, and then some of the locals started chatting. It was very warm and cosy in there, and also loudish music playing. Did find that the price for a pint of local cider what we had come to the area for! was a little pricier than we were expecting around £3.50 a pint so unfortunately didn't make many visits during our stay. If they get the full menu up and running again then would like to give that a try if visiting the area again.
Lovely drinks sitting outside in the sun on a quiet Monday evening.
