Went in on a Saturday, such a great atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and quick taking orders. Lots of young new staff who were learning but did a great job overall. The food was amazing it took a while to turn up but when it did it was totally worth it, would definitely recommend the French dip burger . Will return again soon.
The place is clean and tidy. Staff are pleasant and polite. For the food there is a good choice to select from. Only issues i had was a couple of items I tried to order was not available, thereforeI did without my starter. The desert menu only had 6 options and one of them was unavailable . The waitress DJ that took my order made a very big mistake of not asking if I had allergies. That could of been an issue as I have. When dessert ordered, I make it clear that im allergic to all nuts. But they have a nut free kitchen, so good news for me. Overall I was please with the service and waiting times were good until food arrived. Look forward to the next restaurant or place to review . Kind regards to all the staff.
Wow the worst food and service I have experience in many years! Ordered Lasagne as wanted something wholesome and got it and hour later after initially being served to me after 40mins but the young server put the plate down and a bad angle and the chips spilled all over the table and she was about to walk away! The table is obviously not clean enough to eat my chips off, but she seemed this was okay just to say sorry and tried to leave. I asked for fresh and the correct sweat potato chips that I ordered, so she took it away. 20mins later I asked twice if my meal was okay/ready and twice I was told they were just plating it up. So after an hour it finally came out and wow, how could any server / chef in the world think what they were serving a customer was acceptable! Obviously they must have put it back in the oven, so now I'm unsure how long it had been cooking for, maybe an hour and it was burnt to a crisp, shrivelled mess! I had driven for work 3hours, was so hungry, I gust eat everything else and a small middle part of the shrivelled lasagne and left... see pics and video. I never complain, I am not good and confrontation, so didn't complain, but I will never visit an Ember Inn ever again in my life.
We hired the function rooms upstairs for my daughters christening party at the weekend Danielle was super helpful with everything, she decorated the rooms, blew up and arranged balloons and made it all look really lovely There was space too for a small bouncy castle for the children. The buffet food was delicious, plenty of food and good variety. The mini toad in the holes went down very well! Private bar was available upstairs too Overall a fab venue, all staff are very friendly and welcoming, special thanks to Danielle for making sure everything was perfect for us
Great meal in a great location would have been 5 star but a couple of small mistakes let them down, jot put off will be back
Excellent service! I had my 30th birthday party there last night, the staff are extremely helpful and kind the manager i spoke too was very kind and pleasant the guy who worked on the bar was extremely polite and very professional he even got me some water when I was being sick outside and the food was amazing my guests and I loved it! I will definitely be booking there again when I want a party
Main course was satisfactory but it was downhill from there. Ordered mini puds and drinks. The drinks came but no puds, despite asking staff twice about the puds. We was overcharged a £1.00 and left without ever receiving the puddings. We had waited more than thirty minutes for something we never got!
Nice old pub however it needs a good lick of paint, some decent carpets and some extractor fans. The smell of fried food in the top bar area is over powering and the lower bar smells of burnt soot. Not a nice hour I'm afraid
We were told when we arrived on the 10th December that food was no longer being served as they finished at 7pm. We pointed out that we had booked a table for 7-30pm. My husband asked to see the manager who did come to our table & he said as we had booked, he would honour our booking & serve our table. The meal was very nice, but the shine was taken off the evening which was for my 70th Birthday which we booked in October. Apparently they were busy with Christmas parties but it didn't seem over busy to us.
Overall highly underwhelming. The venue was clean and tidy on a quiet Monday evening, atmosphere pleasant as staff topped off the open fire with fresh logs. We attended for my niece's birthday, ordering a celebratory meal which is sadly where things came undone. I had requested sausage and mash, only to be told that section of the menu was not being served at that time 6:30pm. Frustrating, as this was not indicated on the menu, unlike for example the lunch section which clearly stated it was served till 5pm. More frustrating still given the "out of stock" debacle that was about to unfold. So I figured I'd try a mixed grill instead. Out of stock. The steak, perhaps? Out of stock. Ok, ribs and wings? You guessed it, out of stock. Eventually hitting upon a menu item actually in stock, I ended up with hunters chicken, as did 50% of our 10 head table, such was the widespread scale of unavailability. Our order was also met with the bombshell of "sorry, there is quite a wait for food". Service took well over an hour, already protracted by the back of forth "out of stock" runs to the table. What eventually arrived was the most underwhelming, feeble looking piece of chicken, hidden somewhere under a small slice of bacon, that I actually felt sorry for it. My order was of course wrong, as I had asked for peas to be substituted with beans or just removed. I got peas. Similarly my wife paid extra for sweet potato fries and got oven chips a separate bowl of sweet fries was provided when error highlight to staff. My sister-in-law's carbonara contained the grand sum of what we reconstructed to be one medium sized mushroom and a small slice of bacon, diced, and was what can only be described as grey in [and incredibly unappealing] appearance. I will say those that had a burger option did enjoy them. I tried a small bite of my wife's cow and chic burger and regretted my choice with hindsight she probably got more chicken than I did too.... A terrible dining experience overall which was such a shame given the efforts of the front of house staff to provide a pleasing and friendly place to be. My thanks to them for their efforts albeit I doubt I'll dine here again any time soon.
