Stumbled across this place after an afternoon at Hever Castle and we were not disappointed! Fantastic service and food. Got a few Sunday roasts veg, pork and chicken along with a number of starters — compliments to the chef. Super helpful and knowledgeable waitstaff as well. We will definitely be back!

Lovely place, nice food. Nothing too adventurous, but really lovely. Service is attentive even if a bit on the relaxed side with a rather empty room.

Excellent preserved 15th century building. Several seating areas and plenty of original timbers. Good selection of beers, good food and friendly staff. Large garden.

Just had an exceptionally good Sunday lunch here. Pleasant service, with fantastic food, in a love old pub.

We have just shared a wonderful early Christmas meal as a large dining party of friends. It was absolutely delicious and the team were so helpful. We had a number of complex dietary requirements and the team were very helpful organising this beforehand. Welcome cocktails were on a par with any cocktail bar. Overall we left very happy, stuffed and full of Christmas cheer! Excellent crackers too :-

Great setting and delicious food; however food took 1 h and 30 min to be served.

We ate here for lunch on New Years Day.  Pub was very busy - a lot of walkers in and out throughout the afternoon.  Really liked the interior decor of the pub - lots of wooden beams and log fires.  Food was very good - we had roast dinners it was a Sunday but starters of calamari and crispy pork belly bites also enjoyable.  Decent children’s menus.  Highlight for me was an excellent apple and ginger crumble tart - not something I’d seen elsewhere.  Dog friendly. Choice of three real ales. Main point for improvement was speed of service - the whole meal took 3 hours - but staff were friendly and this is I think symptomatic of the busyness of the day but also the problems the hospitality sector has with staffing these days. But overall we very much enjoyed our lunch.

Fantastic food, fine choice of drinks and the service was exceptional. The gentleman who mainly looked after us was brilliant and made us feel very welcome. I’m not from nearby but if I ever come back to the area I will 100% return here.
