I understand and can appreciate that the staff is overworked and underpaid but the fact of the matter is. The receptionists, except for one are unhelpful, rude and show absolutely zero empathy and you can tell in their voice that they would rather much do something else entirely. Unfortunately I am in a situation that makes it so I can't find a new GP, so I am stuck with them. I am on an SSRI and the only one that works, has the added sideeffect of being the one with the highest suicide rate out of every possible SSRI out there, to add to all the other bad sideeffects that are common with them. My doctor stopped, flat out stopped my prescription from going out, because I missed a singular medical review due to work. Now I am no doctor myself, but I was under the impression that even reducing the dosage too fast is dangerous so it makes you wonder if people like should even be practicing medicine at all. So to everyone out there who botheres to read this. If you can pick another GP, I would highly suggest you do so.
So happy to have them as my local GP. They have accepted shared care with my ADHD psychiatrist and I am extremely grateful and relieved, I can now get my meds prescribed. Most GPs in the Newcastle area refuse outright to do shared care in any form. West Farm surgery are doing a fantastic job for the neurodivergent community
Guidelines on covid is not to go to doctors but when I asked for a fit note after 8 days I was told they would not issue a fit note because I had not been assessed by a doctor. What a joke
The worst GP i have been in the uk and they don’t give me the right to explain my problem they just say no appointment and you need to go to Walk in centre, so why are they there if I should go to the walk-in centre?
Bad service I am trying for 3 days to get appointment for my son. And waiting for an hour on the phone at the end no appointment.
I had my first visit at the practice recently. I seen Dr Martin. Who was very professional and extremely thorough. My experience was nothing but a positive one. High praise. The receptionist was busy naturally but very efficient and very helpful with a lovely manner. As an NHS worker myself I know how busy we can all be. Thank you to you all.
Pathetic surgery, takes an eternity to get through to them on the phone and when you do you just get told there are no appointments. Recently had my 2nd Covid vaccine AstraZeneca and was suffering from massive headaches which started about a week later so obviously worrying about the possibility of blood clots thought i'd better get it checked, I was told there are no phone consultations available so should ring back tomorrow or go to a walk in centre. Both myself and my wife are also constantly being rejected for repeat prescriptions and have to hassle them to put them through. It's gone massively downhill since Dr. Morrison left, don't even know who my Doctor is anymore as they keep leaving. So pathetic really sums this surgery up, they're not patient friendly.
The doctor who contacted me showed me genuine care and concern. He was non-judgemental and considerate of my surroundings where asking sensitive questions. I came away from the appointment confident that I can manage my condition myself with the right support that he directed me to.
I have been with this practice all my life. Very satisfied with the service they provide.
Terrible.... Called for a prescription as a last resort when I did not have any option. Waiting two days after ordering, practice sent a text message to call surgery. No one answers and line busy for hours. Finally when get hold, says they are busy and cannot confirm when prescription is ready and refused to confirm at least when prescription is sent to pharmacy. So now I need to book day appointment to get this sorted at cost of an appointment. NO COMMON SENSE PREVAIL IN THIS PLACE... Could have easily resolved sending text/email confirmation. Secretaries explanations shows internal communication lost and no coordination .. at the cost of public money.
