Terrible service. Ordered one pasty, one sandwich two drinks. Took two members of staff to get the order wrong only one drink and one pasty put through till. When queried if price was right had forgotten sandwich and one coffee. Food arrived had to ask staff to clean table was asked why. Said because it is dirty and I want to sit here. Good arrived still half the order forgotten . We then accepted that this was as good as it was going to get ate pasty drank coffee left. It was an hour before closing so staff were extremely keen o go home and made no attempt to hide the fact we were stopping them closing as soon as they could. Place was dirty floor not swept tables not cleared or cleaned. Will not be going back. There are so many nice places in Canterbury to eat avoid this place at all costs.
Visited your outlet at Ashford services today on the m20. Ordered two coffees and a bacon sandwich. We were told they would bring it outside to us. The ship was empty at this point. We sat outside, 15 minutes later no drink or food, although the assistant had already started our drinks whilst i was in the shop paying. Went back inside only to be served our drinks, which had been sitting there for 15 minutes while they were serving other customers that were not in the shop when I ordered. The thing is, 2 coffees and a bacon roll was almost a tenner, which is premium prices, sadly your staff are less than premium. Disgusting service without any apologies. Very poor service. You have just lost customers.
The exterior and interior branding is nice, but their standard pasties never live up to expectations and are rather bland and tasteless, not how they should taste. That said they do make 'Guest' pasties that are flavoured and well worth trying; the only reason I return here. Being popular they typically sell-out of the guest pasties during the lunchtime rush, so get in early if you can. I've never had a problem with service, it was always quick and friendly.
Visited with my wife who was in a wheelchair and an assistant quickly rearranged some chairs and tables to make room for her - so far so good. When I went up to the counter to order the two assistants were engaged in a conversation with their friends who had just walked in before us and although I stood there I was not acknowledged. Another customer walked in and went in front of me and were immediately asked what they wanted. I made a comment about what was wrong with me and received a reply to say they thought I was looking. Customer service non existent and we left without ordering.
With 5 staff and nobody waiting I asked if we ordered at the counter and was told very abruptly "if you give me a minute". I used the somewhat grimy staircase to the upstairs loo , having had to step out the way of a member of staff hurtling towards me , and found it unsanitary with toilet tissue and debris on the floor , broken toilet seat and a dirty hand basin . I mentioned it to the manageress on the way out that it needed cleaning and was told "it is the customers who make the mess " I informed her it was not me that had done so . Will not return to such rude behavour again . I t used to be so nice and always busy , now I know why it was almost empty .
3 rd February lunch time can't resist a proper pasty. Sadly pasty looked anaemic and the potato wedges were only luke warm.. Pity they tried to overcharge me. When I suggested the price was wrong, a quick re- calculation knocked 85 p off the price. I am loyalty card holder and hope, that next time I visit Canterbury, things will have improved dramatically. Normally, your shops do excellent meals but this one let the side down. Sorry, I did not keep the receipt. Ian... A loyal customer.
Brilliant Service !! We stopped at the "Stop 24" motorway service and had a coffee at the West Cornwall Food Company, very pleased to find they are Dog Friendly, but I mean "properly dog friendly,",, the young guy behind the counter could not do enough and made sure our dog had water, he even asked if he could do him a sausage, a really nice guy who actually knows what service is all about, . His service to us was also five star,,, the young man is a credit to the company.I would make a point a stopping and eating her again anytime. sorry !! should have got his name. visited at 11.00am on 6th August 2019.
Flustered and confused staff, constantly deciding who's doing what job, even though not busy all. Was served a burnt and dry pasty with luke warm and undercooked wedges. I asked for a new pasty and my plate taken away, returned with the same plate and a new pasty, rather than a whole fresh plate. New pasty was marginally better, but dry and tough pastry and hardly any filling. Don't understand what's happened to this place, used to be much better, simple tasty food. A shame the very food of their namesake seems to be the worse thing they offer. Such a prime location in Canterbury too.
For a proper Cornish Pasty, this is the place. Several varieties, all really hot and tasty. Sausage rolls as well. Potato wedges and salad etc. to accompany your food along with your choice of teas and coffees. Ideal site to call in while shopping in the city..
... very bad experience today. We we ordered a medium pasty and they tried charging us for a large one, luke warm 'hot chocolate', cold dried uppotato wedges, chicken and bacon melt which was no more than warm brown bread with lukewarm meat inside, the first one had been sent back and the second attempt was no better.... we were offered a refund on the melt, but the waiter refunded only £3.95 instead of the £4.25 it had cost. You should stick to pasties ... forget melts, sandwiches and salads. Very disappointed and we won't be going back again
