What helps make Southwold such an interesting and lovely place to visit, it's variety of mostly independent stores, and this one, Wells of Southwold I found particularly interesting, as it had such a varied selection. It's obvious from the window displays or at least on the day of my visit that it's a bookstore, and they also sell beautiful framed prints, but as you walk inside, you'll find there's so much more to it. They had a really good range of books, including some with local interest, and as pointed out in the shop, not bad prices, as quite a few are discounted. The prints and photographs available are quite stunning, and available in a variety of sizes, so there's plenty to choose from. As you'd expect given it's location, they also have a large selection of gifts and souvenirs, but what perhaps you would expect to find are CDs, and even some Vinyl OK, it does mention music in the shop sign, but I didn't notice and a lot more besides, so it's well worth taking a look around.
Excellent, well stocked local bookshop with knowledgable and helpful staff. Family owned and independent. They stock some great gifts too.
Went later in evening when it quiet down. Tranquil and surreal almost.
Excellent local shop. Photo printing as well.
Sadly Wells is closed and gone. It was a great shop.
