We popped in here on Easter Monday. A great traditional chippy, which was absolutely packed. Food was of great quality...suggest that you go for a long walk first and get an appetite... Portions are immense. Also the offer 2 and 3 course menus and great prices. It is now on my visit list for next time.

Went in on Friday around 2pm, sat down, the sit in area was about half full (not very busy). We waited a while and a few people were given their orders but no one came to take our order. We waited a bit longer. No one served us. We waited even longer and one woman who was working at the takeaway bit told us the other woman would take our order soon. The takeaway woman spoke to the other woman who was working in our area but she continued to ignore us... still, we waited a bit longer (since we'd already invested about 15 minutes of sitting about waiting to be served). The woman then started cleaning tables rather than take our order - I don't mean clearing dirty plates, I mean tables that no one had been sitting at she just decided to wipe them down rather than take our order. There was no one waiting for tables, there was no need for them to be cleaned at that precise moment when we'd been waiting for 20 minutes just for someone to take our order. We left. Terrible service. Actually quite bizarre how bad it was.

I went here on a recommendation as 'either the Wellington or Marco's' as being the best chippy in Ayr. All I've got to say is if this is the best Chippy Ayr has to offer I'd hate to see the worst. Undercooked chips, fish and sausage dripping with grease. 3 girls behind the counter were on another planet. I should have left when people in front of us left saying 'make sure you know what you asked for because they don't have a clue'. Used to like Dino's but they stopped selling chip shop fayre so not much choice left.
