Great bookshop with helpful staff. Good selection of popular and more esoteric titles...
It's impossible not to like Waterstones! This one is situated across three floors, there's a small cafe too. It is clear where each genre of books is and on what floor. There are plenty of books to choose from, such a wide variety. The staff are always friendly and helpful, but they don't bother you if you're just browsing which is a plus! The only negative about this store is it's situated near to the entrance to a nightclub which is quite grotty and smelly - nothing the staff can do about that sadly. There are also often homeless people that congregate near the entrance asking for money. The store itself is immaculate and I always enjoy visiting.
I loved this place and spent a very pleasant hour here. I didn't buy anything but I just love how lively, warm and organized everything is. There is a huge variety of books and the shelves also have little blurbs for the bestsellers which are very useful for you to gauge if you might like the book. There's a cafe at the back too. I didn't buy anything but I did add a lot of books to my to-read list.
My favourite place in all of Cambridge. A multi-floor bookstore with the latest and the oldest. They have all genres you can think of: fiction and fantasy, young adults, old and modern classics, a big children book area for the young and the youngest, and much more. I always loved their front entrance: you have a big arc with the latest colourful hardcovers, it makes you want to grab the nearest book and start reading. They do have sitting areas on the third floor but also a Caffè with tables where you can grab drinks. Their staff are very helpful and knowledgable. If you are looking for the latest bestsellers or want to gift a lovely book to someone, this is the place for you.
Great to browse but not enough seats. Sometimes it's nice to sit and leaf through a book before purchasing. Other book shops provide chairs to relax and make an informed decision before buying.
Went in to get some gifts for people back home and when I got home and opened the boxes they were empty! If anyone is getting any figures or anything in a box for that matter, please check to make sure it's sealed and after purchasing it just open it and make sure it's actually in there. They're closed by the time I got home and my flight leaves in the morning so it's not like I can even do anything about it. What a waste of £60. I have also tried to email them trying to figure this out but have not got a reply and it's been 5 days.
Went to a book signing event primarily for kids. Organised very well. Kids entertained in the queue by Santa’s elves handing out sweets and having a chat with them. Really pleased and would definitely do it again.
I love visiting this book shop. The interior and their arrangement of books are very inviting, always. Also, they have this convenient click and collect feature on their website. I tried it myself.
Nice atmosphere, but as pretty much elsewhere in Cambridge nowadays is not heated enough in the cold months. Is good for the occasional laptop work, plenty of spaces with outlets, but can get noisy from the students doing their homework there.
Very nice book store. It has a large variety of books in fiction and in non-fiction, and also a great collection of magazines. I especially liked that they have many science and arts magazines that are not easily found in a regular book store. Great iced lattes in the cafe upstairs also!
Great bookstore. You wouldn't guess by the storefront but it is huge inside! It is well organized. There is a café and public toilets. Some of the café staff are rude college brats but most likely they will be gone soon. There were also good kids on staff too.
