Every time it's raining in Norwich, which feels like always, me and my Mrs run into Waterstones. It's become our little joke. 'Looks like rain... to Waterstones!' It's not just about getting out of the rain, though. It's about having a laugh, checking out books, and sipping on coffee that somehow tastes better when you're drying off. This time, we were on a mission to find a book my Mrs wanted, but no luck. We did find a book on how to make hats for cats and another one about a guy who paints with his feet. We didn't buy them, but we had a good laugh imagining our cat in a hat and me trying to paint with my feet. The staff probably think we're a bit weird, always laughing and leaving without buying the book we came for. But they're always nice, and the shop feels like a cozy living room, full of stories waiting to be told. So, even if we never find the book we're looking for, we'll keep coming back. It's our little rain or shine tradition. Great place to kill time, have a laugh, and who knows, maybe one day we'll actually find that book!
I visit Waterstones quite regularly. This week we went to 2 "meet the author" events. They were very good and great fun.. Waterstones always has a great selection of books, and the staff are always polite, and helpful.
Great selection of new fiction books as well as the old classics. There's a large kids section, a manga/anime section and a home/gifts corner. Upstairs has a big range of non-fiction and a cafe. This place is also dog friendly which was a pleasant surprise. Very helpful staff - I was looking for a book which they didn't stock so a member of staff ordered it in for me for collection.
Great customer service. Nice and peaceful no loud music lol Clean surroundings and enjoyable coffee and food. No complaints
A little warm but other than that, love a waterstones. Great selection of books, cafe inside. There is a lift, escalator to go up, stairs to go down. Lovely staff, helpful when you can't find what you want.
Bigger and better than I realised. Although on the left there were lots of boxes delivery day and had to side step to get around them. Good children's section with clearly marked areas, a play area, lots of good quality toys and soft toys which accompany books. Didn't go upstairs but there is a cafe there. Staff were knowledgeable and very helpful, clearly knew their stock.
I love the fact I can get coffee and cake and get half a stamp on my card towards saving up for a new book. I am honestly surprised at how many people do not seem to have a Waterstones card or don't use it in the cafe. If the purchase is over a fiver, that is half a stamp. I promise I am not sponsored by Waterstones hahahaha I just get excited when I have enough stamps to get a book
Always a great place for a wonderful selection of books. Not just what you want but also great ideas and advice for other texts to delve in to. Have a drink and a bite to eat and just soak in the knowledge
A haven of tranquility in the heart of Norwich, browse the bookshelves to your hearts content and then a visit to the cafe where the staff are friendly and helpful with a great selection of drinks and snacks. Well worth a visit.
I went looking for a specific book plus another choice and the assistant quickly found the specific book I wanted. The tills were fully staffed and served customers without much wait. A great service.
