I love coming here. Gigantic book store: can browse for hours. There are some old and second hand books too along with a little cafe. Now they even have lager on tap and small (very small) courtyard where you can drink it.

I was told that I can easily find books about my interest in the UK, especially in London, but it seems like that's not the case. They don't have any books or magazines on digital painting; such as Imagine FX & Digital Painting Techniques. They have graphic design, but that's completely different. In Japan, Singapore and Taiwan's bookstores, they always have a dedicated section for digital painting. I was really disappointed with Waterstones. The art section was quite big, but most of the books I found in their art section are about artworks from the past, such as Renaissance Art and the impressionist movement. They also have books on traditional artworks from the contemporary time. I was feeling like my field is not taken seriously by Waterstones. 😑 The same goes to the Waterstones at Picadilly Circus.

Thus is perhaps one of the coolest bookshops you can go to. The period building gives it an extra dimension and no doubt its proximity to the Universities, making it well stocked with academic literature. But the people make the difference, the patrons seem genuinely curious, which makes for a great shopping experience.

A huge store with an endless array of books. Also includes a coffee shop to take in your new purchase. The staff were really helpful, with a smile, and gave me an abundance of recommendations for my next 5 reads. I'll be going back again.

I love this shop. It’s massive, the atmosphere is nice and calm and I always find what I look for and it’s an excellent place for browsing and spending hours reading through books. I also appreciate the ryman’s downstairs next to the discounted section (definitely have a look!) and the café on the ground floor, even though it’s generally really busy. The staff are very helpful and nice, only the queues at the till are generally quite long.
