From my personal experience I would highly suggest you avoid purchasing a used car from this place. I purchased a used car from David and the and on my way home I noticed there was something wrong with the steering. Went back to him straight away and asked to return the car. David said he’d get his “highly experienced mechanics” to fix it and after an hour of him just non stop talking I had no choice but to agree. Next day I come to pick the car up and the steering seems to have been fixed. Having lost all my trust in him I went to a local garage and asked them to double check the car. I was told that the car should not have passed M.O.T and a range of major issues were found, including a hole in the exhaust. When I phoned David he argued that I’d driven the car for a while and had to cheek to say it was my fault. He’s since been avoiding all calls and emails and seems to be “away on holiday” whenever I go to the garage. I wish I’d read the reviews before buying from him because it looks like a repeating pattern. I’m now having to pay a further £900 to get the car back on the road as it would probably cost more to take him to court. **BE AWARE WHEN DEALING WITH DAVID.** He will act nice and tell you all sorts of stories about his life just to get you to buy a car. Once you’ve paid and the car breaks down 2 days after purchase he will vanish and avoid you.
We bought a cracking little car from David at Waterside Classics. he's not your average salesman he comes across as open honest and friendly with a fantastic knowledge of cars . while visiting David showed me his stock of cars ranging from a few thousand to a few hundred thousand. fantastic Collection ! . check out his web site and don't be scared to talk to him fantastic service 10 out of 10 . thanks !
The biggest indoor heated car showroom in Scotland, need to be seen!! Friendly team and spoilt for choice of Classic, Vintage, Prestige and Modern Cars. Absolutely incomparable!
David and his team recently performed repair work on my Rover P6 3500. Once started, it became apparent that the car needed more than the suspension and brake work it had gone in for, but they handled the repair expertly, with loads of feedback provided along the way regarding progress including pictures. The improvements when I got the car back were night and day- they did a superb job, and returned the car to me cleaner than when I dropped it off! I'm already considering what the next round of improvements will entail, and I'll definitely be bringing it back to Waterside Classics to do the work!
Terrible experience with this company. We hired a lovely looking vintage Daimler bus for our wedding to ferry guests between the church and wedding reception. We booked the bus in June 2018 for our wedding in October and paid over £400 deposit. When we phoned in the weeks leading up to the wedding to pay the balance we were told that nobody was available in the accounts department to take the payment. Alarm bells started ringing but eventually we got through in the week before the wedding and paid the balance and were assured everything was in place. Morning of the wedding my wife receives a call whilst getting hair and make up done to say they have broken down! They did say they would try to find alternative transport but phoned back soon after to say they couldn’t find anydid they even try? We were advised that a full refund would be provided. So two hours before the wedding we’re phoning round to get alternative transport for our guests-so stressful!!! Six weeks later we still have no refund, waterside weddings/classics have blocked our phone numbers and have not had the decency to reply to emails or letters. Sadly we’ve had to consult citizens advice bureau about getting our money back through Alternative Dispute Resolution/ small claims court. I understand classic vehicles may not always be reliable but if your contract says: in the unlikely event of breakdown alternative transport will be provided with due haste, you expect it. In any case to have had this experience and still have to fight for a refund is beyond the pale. Thanks for ruining our day Waterside Weddings!
A big thank you to David and his team for making my dream car a reality. The Chevy Camaro is a beast which turns heads every day. Bought in memory of my Mum, Dad and Sister. An excellent garage and was a pleasure to deal with.
While the cars look fantastic, the customer service by this company is despicable. The car was 40mins late to collect me on my wedding day leaving me phoning repeatedly to find out where it was and how long it would be. For some reason the driver had taken the M8 from Govan to Shawlands despite Google Maps showing heavy traffic on the M8 and several alternative routes available. Our registry office appointment was nearly missed as I was 25mins late, and the ceremony had to be rushed due to this. The same car then broke down and we were stranded for 45mins after our ceremony waiting for a replacement, again phoning repeatedly to find out what was going on the car was nowhere to be seen. At no point did anyone contact us to keep us up to date. The communication was appalling and the owner accepted no responsibility for us losing an hour with our guests. It took nearly 2 weeks to get any acknowledgement to our complaint email which was then dismissed as all being ‘outwith their control’. Don’t risk your big event! Update: My credit company have refunded me in full for the cost of the hire as a gesture of goodwill credit based on poor customer service received. Interesting that Section 75 can recognise the severe failing in customer service when the company is unable to.
I won the car from eBay, I’ve contacted via eBay, no reply. So I’ve texted. David said I can pay by PayPal. I paid in full. I’ve trusted them. Today 17/06/19 I went to pick the car, before see I paid for mot. Car not started, low fuel. They put some petrol. Then I filled it up. Start the journey. Within 10 miles, car went limp mode, engine management light came on. I phoned, they said bring it back, I did. They tried, couldn’t fix the problem properly. I asked them for refund. Said no, said David not here, we are just workers like that. But I suspect David was there.i can’t lose car and money so I took the car back. I drove 200 miles to pick the car. Drove slowly back home. Complete false description, said full service history, none ,only mot history. Better avoid.
It’s so bad, I want to give you a zero, but I can’t, so I give you a one. Unbearably terrible service, sold my mate a beaten up motor on its last breath. Frequently “fixed” it’s issues yet in the end he had to fix them himself. Seriously avoid this place they’re old school salesmen
Called to view a car which had appeared on Autotrader - agreed to pay a refundable deposit to hold the car, pending viewing it. Traveled 90 minutes to see the car, to find it on the stocks being worked on. As we couldn't sit in, test drive or even really see the car they had it covered while spraying it, we declined it and requested our deposit back. Fast forward 4 weeks; there's no sign of deposit, I've been called a liar on the phone, there's been attempts to be charged for work on a car I don't own, and then I'm being hung up on. This car dealer seems to be about as dishonest as they come, I would never even consider buying from them again, and would suggest you are very wary too.
