Serving a number of lines, this is a cavernous area of passages and escalators. Also the location of the shuttle Waterloo and City Line running to Bank only. Change here also for Bakerloo and Northern Lines.
A transportation hub in London the last stop of the Southwest train You can walk almost to the tourist centre of London, which we are familiar with. The lobby of Waterloo Station is always busy It’s a big train station with trains going between underground and ground all day. It is clean even though it was quite busy with many travelers. It’s easy to see from which platform the train leaves. It is a huge station inside surrounded by many vehicles and pedestrian traffic. The station has both regular trains running to other parts of the UK and subways running throughout London. The exterior is impressive, at least on one side. On the other side, it looks a little depressed, but it’s an interesting place overall. There are restaurants and shops in the station. Roads outside the station are packed with both vehicles and pedestrians.
Waterloo, I was defeated, you won the war. Waterloo, promise to love you forever more....
So, generally this station is great - the staff a very friendly and lots of shops for coffees etc. Upon visiting the station today I was really disappointed and annoyed at the WOMEN toilets now being changed to “gender neutral”, why?! Incredibly inconvenient especially for women with younger children! Please leave women’s toilets alone, and build additional toilet faculties if they need to be “gender neutral”!
One of the main Northern Line and busiest station in London. Really busy specially at peak time. Location wise too good. Just very next to River Thames, LondonEye, Westminster Bridge, Royal Festival Hall and many more important points for the tourists. It’s next to Waterloo train station which is the busiest station because of Southwestern railways main operator. A new brand shopping place opened The Siding Waterloo.
Beautiful and safety, so easy to connect to another line's. I'm reading my excelent book Val Vega: Secret ambassador of earth in between of the trains.
Beautiful station on the glorious Bakerloo line, boasting not one but TWO Greggs'!! With a third Greggs just down the road. Station is a tad busy but that is to be expected. No doubt people will always be desperate to sample the greatness of the Bakerloo line so much so that thry're willing to brave the noise of the Jubilee, the lung damage of the Northern, and the delays of the National Rail just to come and try it out.
Huge London Tube station which is a major artery and transition station in London. Lots of shops and food options and also is a huge hub for London trains One thing that gets EASILY overlooked is the history and beautiful ornate design of this place. If you goto the front entrance and just look up, you can see the wonderful history built into it. Love the WW I motifs/edifices and architecture of it
The biggest and one of the oldest metro and National Rail station in London. Usually serves south of England. Metro station is separated from National Rail station. National Rail service is usually served by "Southern" or "South Western Railway" All services superb.Be careful as Lambeth council enforcement officers are monitoring front of this station should anyone litter, drop a cigarette etc. Also make sure when you book your ticket that you enter proper train.
National Windrush Monument in Waterloo station, a really epic monument that pays homage to the early congratulations by Caribbean settlers who left their homeland to travel to the UK after the war to help rebuild a devastated economy, only to be pushed to the bottom of the socioeconomic landscape and years later many were forcefully repatriated. This statue shows a hopeful family beautifully dressed with their luggage ready for a new life .
