Nice little tea rooms on the bank of the River Windrush. The food was delicious and not too dear. The gentleman serving was on his own, but served quickly and efficiently and was very pleasant.
My fiancée and I were discriminated against by the guy serving ice cream at the stall outside. We went to order ice cream and before we even got near the queue, he came at us aggressively ordering us to put masks on, despite us being exempt, which we told him politely. He asked for proof, even though it's none of his business, and when we told him we don't have proof, he got sarcastic with us and completely refused to serve us. All a bit over the top considering the stall was outdoors anyway, we followed all of the other rules, and we were never once rude to him. I'd be interested to see what the law says about explicitly discriminating against customers on medical grounds. Would he treat a customer in a wheelchair the same? Or even an older person with no mask? It's absurd that an ice cream server thinks he can probe someone for medical records, especially in such a rude manner. Anyway, we went to another place along the road, which was essentially the same set up with ice cream being served outside, and we were served with no hassle at all, and the ice cream was great.
Didn’t make it to ordering anything, spend your money somewhere else with manners, was ordered to ‘get back and keep 2 metres or we will be shut down’. At this point I had a mask on due to COVID and was nowhere near the person in front. Markings on the floor in chalk barely visible after a busy day of people standing on them, everyone else was a similar width apart yet I was picked out and then she unloaded her obvious aggression on me which left me abit confused so I walked off and visited another tea room with correct markings on the floor and polite staff, I’d give 0 stars if I could. Not one to write reviews but I’m still annoyed a day later.
What a cozy place! My boyfriend and I really enjoed the afternoon tea there. The best carrot cake I have ever had. The man was so nice even tho the place was super busy and he was there on his own. Also a big thank you for my wallet which I accidentaly left there. Such a relief to have it back.
Staff are extremely rude and shouted at customer for not wearing a face mask. They didn’t get my business and should be avoided. Plenty of decent businesses in the area who are happy to treat customers correctly
AVOID THIS COMPANY, STAFF ARE RUDE. SHOUTED AT ME CALLED ME RUDE BECAUSE I SIMPLY DID NOT HAVE A FACEMASK, IT IS AN OUTDOOR ICE CREAM TRAILOR, FACE MASKS ARE NOT COMPULSORY INDOORS NEVER MIND OUT DOORS, REFUSED TO SERVE ME AN ICE CREAM OUT DOORS BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE ONE & EXPLAINED ITS NO LONGER LAW SO I DO NOT CARRY ONE & I AM DOUBLE VACCINATED. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE SHE JUST SCREAMED SHE IS HIGH RISK SO SHE IS NOT DYING FOR ME, ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. EVERY CUSTOMER IN QUE AGREED WITH ME & ALOT LEFT THE QUE. WOULD NOT GIVE MY MONEY TO THIS BUSINESS EVER.
Very nice tea room, food was very good with friendly staff. Gets very busy around lunch time so pick your time if you visit.
What a quaint place with a lovely garden and tea room toilet named the sweet pee room A cake stand with knitted sandwiches and cakes a wonderful assortment of China and tea pots loved it highly recommended
This little cafe is a hidden treasure serving great food with a fantastic little terrace for watching the boasts go by on the river.
Incredibly rude staff member. Couldn't serve us because he was busy, fair enough. But aggressively telling us to leave, too much.
