Reviews
We had a lovely meal and felt very comfortable here, 4 adults that had starters, mains and separate pudding from the cake counter. Staff are lovely and we felt very catered too. The restaurant is child friendly and very cosy. Highly recommend!!
Beautiful dinning experience inside and outside excellent choice of food, pizzas, carvery and good choice of pub classics all at reasonable price's. Good atmosphere and service by friendly staff. My first visit ..definitely not the last. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: Didn't take notice Kid-friendliness: Little play area for young children inside and a nice garden area tots to teens meals Parking: Ample free parking Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled car spaces and access
Good venue, carvery on a Sunder was good with the exception of the meat..... at best it was dry..... my son, daughter and I had it and did not eat it, gravy did not help. The normal menu items the other 6 members of my family had were really good but the carvery seams to be less important or they would try to produce an edible version.
Meeted and greeted by a very friendly manager and although extremely busy he told us to get a drink and would sort us a table in 5 to 10 mins. He kept acknowledging us and within 20 mins we were seated at a table. Chose carvery meal and lovely choices plus lovely and hot. Definitely will be returning very soon. Parking: Although a busy time we were still able to find a space quite close to entrance.
The food quality is pretty low. 2 of us had steak pie and chips. The pie has no flakiness or crunch to the pastry. It was like a leather satchel, so I can only assume it was microwaved instead of oven baked. I ate some of the insides but the crust was inedible. The chips which were disappointing as well, so we left hungry. Other dishes at the table didn't rate highly either, so we decided to skip dessert and left. Some good points: the cakes look great, portions are generous and the pub looks nice and clean. I'm shocked that a pub can mess up a simple dish like pie and chips this badly. With plenty of other restaurants around, we won't be back here anytime soon.
Honest review from my personal experience. The food was bland and lacked anything positive. The desserts initially were pleasant but soon turned sickly. The "own beer" tasted watered down, like a beer cordial topped with soda. Overall left disappointed having spent an amount I felt did not match the quality. Doubt I would ever visit again thus wouldn't recommend.
Held a wake for my father here, the staff went above and beyond to make our day super special day. Huge thanks to Gavin and the gang, it wouldnt have been such a wonderful day despite the circumstances, without your amazing help! Also, been here for carverys in the past and the service is no different, amazing, friendly and a warm welcome all round! Fantastic job done by the whole team, highly recommended!
Christmas eve meal with family. Food was lovely and although a couple of mix ups in out order but we fixed it with no issues. Staff were great and the place felt very festive Vegetarian options: Catered for no problem Dietary restrictions: Catered for my coeliac with no issues
Beers ok, atmosphere more restaurant than pub, but the worst thing was the quality and quantity of the carvery. Had the turkey, cut so thin the guy deserved an award for his skill and dexterity and just one slice! All the veg was tired and the gravy was gloopy and thick with onions, ok so I'm not a fan of onion but an alternative would have been nice. We live 200 metres from this place so have given it many visits but aside from summer drinks outside have now given up and will dine elsewhere, such a shame.
Was in new years eve. Children's disco all night. Prices of beer etc is ridiculous. Gin &tonic and a pint of bitter over £11. Nice pub but the beer prices stop us going in more often.
