We had a fantastic stay here at Walwick Hall. Everything was great. We probably met around 6 members of staff. All were kind and courteous, especially at breakfast and towards our two kids whom they made pancakes for. The food was delicious, zero complaints. The room was always clean and tidy; the pool and spa really relaxing. If we're in the area again, we'll stay here.
We went for a spa day which included a buffet lunch or something from their main menu. Lovely pool area, with jacuzzi & steam room. The treatment I chose was a facial, it was excellent, very relaxing loved it. there was a few wasps in the treatment area, this didn't bother me I still had a relaxing treatment but it did cause concern for a couple of my friends. We had to dress for lunch which would have been ok if we had been told as getting back into a wet costume was not ideal, I would've taken an extra swimsuit. The buffet Lunch was a tapas style, cheese, salad leaves, smoked salmon, chorizo, hummus, olives, guacamole & toasted breads & a dessert, surprisingly filling. We had to pay for any additional drinks. It was a lovely day out
Our stay at Wallwick hall was a delight from start to finish. The surroundings and furnishings are splendid. We were fortunate to be attended to by Debbie who has a delightful demeanour and performed her role faultlessly. I was impressed how well maintained the fixtures and fittings were. We had a three course Sunday lunch, packed full of flavour and presented with pride. Our room for the night was the Hare room with a lovely view over the lawn. Breakfast again was excellent with the best black pudding I’ve tasted. All in all a brilliant stay. We found every member of staff to be warm and friendly. Best hotel I can remember. Many thanks Rooms: Wonderful bedding and very comfortable.
What an incredible stay!! Absolutely everything was perfect. First rate service, amazing room, fantastic spa treatments, excellent food, stunning views, wonderful grounds beautifully renovated and lovely atmosphere. Best of all: 6 course tasting menu - best food we’ve eaten in years. Very close to Hadrian’s wall and many historic sites - the nearby museum at Vindolanda was very impressive. Thank you so much for looking after us so well for our stay, we’ll certainly be back. As highly recommended as we can!
Had a spa day at Walwick Hall and it was amazing. Staff all lovely. Therapists were excellent. And the hotel/facilities/views were outstanding. Highly recommedService: 5/5
Absolutely beautiful hotel, all staff are so nice and food is amazing , spa treatment was lovely and relaxing pity we didn't see this hotel years ago.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed for the weekend, hotel is really lovely, cannot fault it. The decor downstairs is very stylish, the staff are all very friendly, food was excellent, the spa / pool overlooking the garden / countryside nicely done in a very modern building which contrasts with the old stone building of the hotel. Bedrooms are currently being updated, but we stayed in “old” room, but everything was really nice - super comfy bed, smooth top quality bedding, nice tea set in the room, lovely big fluffy white towels, good shower. Photos on the web don’t do it justice. I could go on but this is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at anywhere. It’s only 10 bedrooms which means you get personal service. Can’t recommend highly enough. Try a complimentary cocktail at the bar !
Had Sunday lunch yesterday. Venue is beautiful. Staff friendly but not 4star. Service a bit slow. Vegies nice, cauliflower cheese delicious. Roast beef not the best. Dessert crumble not the best. Custard really runny. Slight problem with our bill for which I am still waiting for an answer. Minor complaint about outside...the gravel paths are impossible to walk on in heels! So my wife says! Need more staff training.
They need to sort their website out. We found what looked to be a great spot to have a breakfast, with site giving all prices and saying that walk-ins are welcome… well, they definitely are not for breakfast. We were greeted by someone at the desk who just seemed determined to hurry us along as soon as we said we are not currently guests. They did check with the chef, but this was a ‘No’ as well. “Come back at 10”. It was 9am. It looks very nice inside and the setting is lovely, hence 2 stars.
I visit lots of luxury hotels; I must say I was extremely impressed with Walwick Hall. Absolutely everything about the whole experience was fantastic. I stayed for the weekend. There is not a single issue I could point out. The whole grounds, the room, the hotel interior, the spa, the staff = all completely perfect I even left a £100 tip to show my appreciation. I would highly recommend Walwick Hall to everyone.
