Great market. Lots of stalls and speciality shops to cater for all tastes. It's the only place where I've been able to buy Tapioca Starch and Gum Arabic from the same store. We walked down to the Market Cafe which is like a shrine to Princess Diana. Lots of pictures of her on the walls. Had a very substantial meal at a reasonable price. Highly recommended. Currently there is lots of building going on which means the Mall Car Park has been altered and is a bit confusing with the new layout and payment schemes. The market is well worth a visit though.
Walthamstow Market is a vibrant and bustling hub that I absolutely love visiting. Stretching over a mile, it's one of the longest street markets in Europe, and it’s packed with an incredible variety of stalls. I can always find everything I need, from fresh fruit and veg to clothes, household items, and unique treasures. The market’s lively atmosphere, combined with its rich mix of cultures, makes every visit an enjoyable experience. The traders are friendly, and I often find great bargains that you wouldn't get elsewhere. It’s truly the heart of Walthamstow and a must-visit for anyone in the area!
Almost everything you need to live is in here. Shopping mall, fresh fish and meats halal to different nuts etc. not busy on the market road as its Monday.
I believe it's the longest market in Britain or in the world? a wealth of outdoor stalls and indoor market too. A busy thriving multi cultural atmosphere to enjoy as well
One of the longest street markets in London. Located on Walthamstow High Street, and right next to Walthamstow Central Tube Station and Walthamstow Central Bus Terminal. You can find fresh Fruit, Vegetables, and bargains on clothing, shoes, household goods and much more. There are multiple restaurants and fast food places to eat. The market is open every day of the week, but it is very busy on Tuesdays when most of the vendors are there.
Mostly I visited different countries for purchasing clothing, I have liked two places in the world , number 1 China and then number 2 is walthamstow high street. I like so much , it's the great effort by the walthamstow Council.
A great place to visit for locals and visitors alike - who want an experience off the tourist beat. The market is the longest market in Europe and hosts an array of different stalls - fresh food and veg, clothes, second hand items and street food. The place is extremely diverse, you can tell from the different food stalls along the market - from turkish cuisines, authentic asian food and jamaican. Saturdays are the main day for the market. There are local stores along the side of the market street - from Polish groceries/restaurants, turkish cafes, high street brands; the market also has an indoor Mall - with all the high street stores and a fast food restaurant area. Checkout our walking tour on our YouTube channel Geek Street Travels to get a first person perspective of the place and leave us your comments!
What's not to like about this long standing traditional street market! I mean for starters it seems to never end and on busy days there are a lot of great food offerings . I'd say the food stalls are the highlight
Good traditional street market worth a visit. All along one street and a range of items for sale
This market is back to how it used to be. I can happily spend time and money there
